Astartes Get Tougher and More Expensive
The September balance update reshapes power-armoured armies ahead of the new Space Marines codex. Most Tacticus, Terminator, and several Chaos units gain one Toughness, although Gravis, Phobos, and Death Guard do not. Consequently, affected units rise in points, producing smaller armies with tougher models.
Phobos Marines instead jump to an 8-inch Move, making them better objective runners and movement blockers. However, that speed also costs more points. Bolt weapons and chainswords generally reach Strength 5, with some gaining additional AP. Death Guard benefit differently, since boltguns and plague knives become Strength 5 and AP -1. Crucially, they avoid the Toughness increases and associated points rises.
Nurgle’s Gift keeps many Astartes wound interactions familiar while improved AP makes successful wounds nastier. Custodes bolt weaponry also receives smaller changes before their new codex arrives. The affected factions span loyalist Chapters, Chaos Marines, Grey Knights, Deathwatch, Imperial Agents, and god-aligned Legions.
Warhammer TV Adds Aeronautica Imperialis
Warhammer TV is expanding with animation, lore, and tabletop action. Aeronautica Imperialis combines all three episodes into one final cut following Imperial Navy pilots against an unfamiliar aerial enemy. Additionally, Jonathan Hartman’s original score arrives separately for suitably grim painting music.
Loremasters explores the Land Speeder’s Martian origins, variants, and battlefield roles. Elsewhere, Sons of Behemat face Slaves to Darkness in a Battle Report showcasing the new gargant battletome.
