The Warhammer 40K Battleforce Boxes 2026 have been revealed, and this year’s lineup is unusually broad.
Space Marines, Chaos, Orks, and Necrons all receive large seasonal bundles. Meanwhile, The Old World pushes Settra’s campaign deeper into Bretonnia and toward Athel Loren. Together, the releases mix army building with some important setting development.
Seven Warhammer 40K Battleforce Boxes 2026 Cover Almost Every Playstyle

The Space Marines get the Indomitus Task Force, which feels like a classic all-rounder starter core. It includes a Terminator Captain, Chaplain, Redemptor Dreadnought, five Terminators, five Jump Pack Intercessors, and ten Intercessors. Consequently, players get durability, shooting, mobility, and enough melee punch to avoid feeling one-dimensional.

Chaos Knights receive the Helhunt Lance, built around one large Knight and four War Dogs. The centerpiece can become a Ruinator, Abominant, Rampager, or Desecrator. Meanwhile, the War Dogs can become Stalkers, Brigands, or Karnivores. That flexibility helps players who dislike being locked into one loadout.

Orks get the Armoured Blitzmob, pairing a Mega Armoured Warboss with a Battlewagon, Deff Dread, Meganobz, and Boyz. The Battlewagon can alternatively become a Gunwagon, giving the army either transport capacity or more firepower.

Likewise, Space Wolves lean hard into elite infantry with Champions of Fenris. Logan Grimnar and Arjac Rockfist lead fifteen Wolf Guard Terminators, making this the bluntest box of the bunch.

Blood Angels get the Angelus Assault Force, which is almost entirely built around crashing into melee quickly. Dante, a Jump Pack Chaplain, Sanguinary Guard, Jump Death Company, and a Death Company Brutalis all fit that plan.

Chaos Space Marines receive the Cult of Destruction, loaded with daemon engines and heavy weapons. A Warpsmith supports a Defiler, Venomcrawler, Obliterators, Havocs, and Mutilators.

Finally, Necrons get Disciples of the Nekrosor, with Nekrosor Ammentar and a Nightbringer shard anchoring the force. Additionally, Ophydian Destroyers, a Doomstalker, Warriors, and Scarabs provide supporting bodies. Overall, these boxes cover distinct army styles instead of repeating the same infantry-heavy formula. Pre-orders are coming soon, while Age of Sigmar and Horus Heresy festive boxes will be revealed separately.
River of Bones Pushes Settra’s War Toward Athel Loren

The River of Bones continues the wider campaign that began with Settra’s return to the Border Princes. After earlier victories, Settra pursues his enemies toward Louen Keep near the Vaults. Meanwhile, High Priest Ashurtak drives another undead army north through the Vaults toward Bretonnia. That western force has already suffered badly, especially among the Liche Priests sustaining the undead ranks. Ashurtak therefore turns toward Athel Loren, hoping to seize the forest’s magical power. Naturally, the Wood Elves have no intention of allowing that.

The fighting eventually reaches Crystal Mere, where the campaign’s next major confrontation takes shape. More importantly, the journal expands ancient Nehekhara’s history beyond its familiar desert heartland. Nehekharan influence once reached far into lands now associated with the Empire.

As that empire receded, temples, outposts, burial sites, and forgotten soldiers remained behind. Ashurtak has exploited those ruins during his march, awakening old legions and reclaiming lost knowledge. However, the same logic suggests more Nehekharan sites may lie scattered across the Old World. That gives the story consequences beyond one battle, because future discoveries could awaken armies in unexpected places. The Wood Elves may therefore be defending more than Athel Loren at Crystal Mere. If Ashurtak succeeds, his route into Bretonnia becomes far more dangerous. The new Arcane Journal and Tomb Kings miniatures go up for pre-order on Saturday.
Overall, this is a strong week for collectors and setting-focused players. The Battleforces offer clear army identities, while River of Bones keeps The Old World’s campaign moving forward. Better still, neither reveal feels isolated from the broader games they support.
