Atomic Mass Games is giving Star Wars painters a showcase at AdeptiCon 2027.
The Master of the Brush Competition puts craft, storytelling, and presentation on equal footing. Better still, it welcomes veterans and first-time competitors. A New Star Wars Painting Competition With Jedi-Themed Awards
The Master of the Brush Competition accepts Star Wars: Legion and Star Wars: Shatterpoint miniatures. Painters can enter Single Miniature, Duel, or Squad categories, while ages 14 through 18 get the Padawan Open. Additionally, conversions are welcome within guidelines, giving kitbashers room to experiment. However, entries need more than smooth blends and sharp highlights.
Each piece should capture Star Wars atmosphere through scenic basing, environment, and storytelling. Meanwhile, every entrant becomes one of “The Attuned” and receives a commemorative participation patch. Judges then award bronze, silver, or gold by quality rather than simple placement. They consider craftsmanship, composition, creativity, storytelling, technical execution, and artistic vision. Consequently, technique matters most when it supports the overall concept. Bronze, silver, and gold recipients become Jedi Knights and receive commemorative coins.
Gold entries from the three main categories advance for Jedi Master consideration. Likewise, one winner from each category becomes a Jedi Master and receives a special trophy. Finally, those three winners compete for Jedi Grand Master and the Grand Master Yoda trophy.
Entries open April 8 at AdeptiCon and close at noon CT on April 10. Judging follows Saturday evening, while winners are announced Sunday, April 11. Additionally, all entries will be displayed Saturday. More eligibility, model, conversion, and category rules are still coming, with painters encouraged to share progress online.
