After an initial wave of attacks the allies have managed to capture several territories while the main armored thrust bogged down.
The initial attacks on the Maas-Waal bridge came at a heavy price for the American paratroopers but they achieved their goal. Elsewhere the men of Easy Company and the 101st airborne have captured Uden Road. On the Valkenswaard Road the Fallschirmjaegers under Von Der Heydete fought off the initial British spearhead while the Americans managed a limited breakthrough.

Market Garden Global Campaign Week 2 Battles Orders:
1.2.1 — WEERT ROAD
7TH ARMOURED DIVISION / 15TH (SCOTTISH) DIVISION
OPERATION ORDER – PRIORITY
To: Forward Elements, 3rd Infantry Division and 12th (Motorised) Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps
Subject: Advance on Weert Road
SITUATION: German airborne elements are reported astride the Weert road and are delaying the advance north. Enemy strength is believed limited, but prepared resistance may be encountered along the road approaches.
MISSION: Forward elements will clear the Weert road and open the axis for continued Corps movement.
EXECUTION: Armour will advance along the principal road while infantry clears defended ground and protects the flanks. Enemy strongpoints are to be reduced without unnecessary delay. Maintain close cooperation between tanks and infantry.
Momentum is essential. Do not allow isolated resistance to halt the column.
REPORT: Road condition, enemy strength, casualties, and progress to Division upon securing the objective.
1.2.2 — DEELEN AIRFIELD
1ST AIRBORNE DIVISION
OPERATION ORDER – IMMEDIATE
To: Elements, 1st Airlanding Company
Subject: Seizure of Deelen Airfield
SITUATION: German troops are reported between Wolfheze and Deelen, with additional forces likely to concentrate around the airfield and its approaches. Deelen remains an important enemy installation and must be denied to German forces.
MISSION: 1st Airlanding Company will advance toward Deelen Airfield, overcome opposition on the approaches, and seize the airfield and surrounding ground.
EXECUTION: Move rapidly before the enemy can establish a coordinated defence. Clear road junctions, woods, buildings, and defensive positions controlling access to the airfield. Once reached, secure the landing ground, dispersal areas, and principal approaches against counterattack.
Speed is essential. The airfield is the primary objective.
REPORT: Report immediately when Deelen Airfield is secured. Include enemy strength, casualties, prisoners, airfield condition, and any requirement for reinforcement.
1.2.3 — TURNHOUT BRIDGE
3RD INFANTRY DIVISION
OPERATION ORDER – PRIORITY
To: Forward Elements, 7th Armoured Division and 15th (Scottish) Division
Subject: Assault on Turnhout Bridge
SITUATION: German infantry and supporting weapons hold the approaches to Turnhout Bridge, blocking the advance of XII Corps. The crossing is required intact for continued operations northward.
MISSION: 15th Division will force the bridge approaches, secure the crossing, and establish a position beyond the canal.
EXECUTION: Infantry will attack and fix the defenders while 12th K.R.R.C. moves rapidly to exploit any breach and secure the far approaches. Enemy guns covering the crossing are to receive immediate attention.
The bridge is to be preserved wherever practicable.
REPORT: Bridge condition, enemy strength, casualties, and status of the far bank to Division immediately after seizure.
