The GW Autumn preview keeps delivering substantial reveals instead of simple model teases.
Custodes players are getting a major faction refresh. Meanwhile, Horus Heresy fans gain a new Slaanesh army list and campaign book. Together, these releases make the preview feel unusually broad.
Custodes Become Even More Elite With New Aquilon Terminators

The Adeptus Custodes are getting new plastic Aquilon Terminators alongside their next Warhammer 40,000 codex. These veterans wear some of the Imperium’s rarest armour and carry two classic loadouts.

Players can choose lastrum storm bolters with Solarite power talons, or adrathic combi-destructors with Solarite power gauntlets. Better yet, the models work in both Warhammer 40,000 and Horus Heresy armies.

The new codex also fundamentally rescales Custodes datasheets, pushing even basic Custodians beyond most Space Marine heroes. Consequently, points rise and squad sizes shrink, making Custodes even more of an elite army. A new Combat Patrol includes a Shield Captain, six Sentinel Guard, three Venatari, and a Contemptor-Achillus Dreadnought. Also, several newer kits receive standalone releases and dual-system packaging, including jetbikes, grav-tanks, and multiple Dreadnoughts.
Slaanesh Invades the Signus Cluster

The Heresy side heads to Kol with Journal Tactica: The Battle for the Signus Cluster: Assault on Kol. While Blood Angels fought Khorne on Signus Prime, Custodes battled Kyriss the Perverse beneath Kol’s surface. The book adds lore for the Signus Cluster, corrupted Solar Auxilia, Word Bearers, and Slaaneshi Daemons.

Meanwhile, Custodes gain an Ephoroi Venatari-Proconsul, a Hykanatoi Proconsul-Delegate, and updated Gyrfalcon Jetbike rules. The biggest addition is a full Daemons of Slaanesh army list featuring Daemonettes, Seekers, Fiends, and more.

It also includes army-wide rules and Exalted Sections representing corrupted Solar Auxilia.
Summary and Final Thoughts
Overall, the GW Autumn preview is giving both systems meaningful expansion rather than cosmetic releases. Custodes get a stronger elite identity, while Heresy gains a fresh daemon army and campaign setting.
