Star Wars Separatist Leaders Bring Control, Fear, and Big Villain Energy

The new star wars separatist leaders preview gives Legion players a loaded command toolbox.

However, this is not just a pile of famous villains. Each character fills a distinct battlefield role. Meanwhile, the expansion clearly wants Separatist players choosing between control, pressure, and assassination. This is a sumamry of a community post found here.

Trench, Dooku, Grievous, Ventress, and Savage All Lead Differently

This Separatist wave adds Admiral Trench, Count Dooku, and General Grievous as Commanders, while Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress arrive as Operatives. That mix is immediately useful, because Separatist armies often live or die through order control and precise timing. Trench is the safest backline schemer. He uses Direct: Flying Vehicle, Entourage: Kraken, Override, Orbital Strike, and his Caught in a Web upgrade to disrupt enemy plans with Ploy tokens.

Honestly, that feels perfect for him. He is not dueling Jedi in the street. Instead, he is making your opponent’s clean activation plan fall apart at the worst possible moment.

Meanwhile, Dooku remains the elegant control monster, using Cunning, Direct: Trooper Unit, Master of the Force 2, Pierce-heavy attacks, and nasty command cards.

Better yet, The Sith Will Rule becomes especially scary beside Ventress, since she can activate after him.

Ventress herself is fast, slippery, and aggressive, with Jump 2, Relentless, Dodge tricks, Deflect, Jar’Kai Mastery, Jedi Hunter options, and flexible command-card choices. Therefore, she looks ideal for hunting isolated targets or forcing bad trades.

Grievous is the blunt nightmare version of leadership. He brings Relentless, Scale, Block, Immune: Pierce, Jedi Hunter, attack-everything tricks, Surge support, and snowballing pressure as enemies fall.

Finally, Savage Opress brings angry missile energy to either Separatists or Shadow Collective. His Retinue changes between Dooku and Maul, while Enrage 2, Charge, Ram 1, Jump 1, Demoralize, Poison, and Scatter make him nastier after taking wounds.

Also, We Shall Start with Revenge turns self-damage into timing tension and serious payoff. For the Cause then ties the whole release together by ordering one Commander and two Operatives with Surge tokens. Overall, this preview gives Separatists several identities at once: Trench disrupts, Dooku controls, Grievous commands through fear, and the Operatives hunt key pieces. Summary and Final Thoughts

Overall, this looks like a strong leadership expansion for Separatist players. However, the best part is how little overlap there is. Each villain feels useful, flavorful, and dangerous in a different way.
