North Star Military Figures has revealed the two other Bohemian Foot Knight Sprues for their upcoming plastic sets. Let’s take a look!
Several weeks ago North Star Military Figures announced the upcoming release of an all plastic range for the Hussite Wars of the 15th Century. Along with promises of plastic war wagons, North Star also showed off a sprue of Bohemia Foot Knights with hand weapons. Tantalizingly, they also showed some of the knights from the sprue wielding two handed weapons, strongly hinting that a companion set was in the works. Confirmation came quickly and we now know that two sets are planned for simultaneous release. The Bohemian Foot Knights with Hand Weapons will be interchangeable with the second set carrying two-handed weapons.

The figures come in a somewhat unique configuration. The torsos are separate from the legs, but the heads are attached. This could very likely be due to the large variation in headwear that trails down to the shoulders or below, making it difficult to make universal torsos for various heads. Both sets come with a huge number of weapon options, allowing for a very interesting mix of weapon types. The hand weapon wielding minis will have the option of axes, hammers, swords and maces, while the pole-arm soldiers will have axes, spears, a bardiche, war hammer and two handed sword.

But that’s not all, there is also a command frame, that North Star only shared in their newsletter! This frame will come with both sets of knights and has several extra decorative bits to kit out our commanders. These knights are suitable for any Western European force of the period, but they do contain a larger proportion of flare that was characteristic of Bohemian knights. For more information, North Star encourages their customers to read the Osprey Publishing book on the Hussite Wars, illustrated by the legendary Angus McBride!

And there you have it! Will you be picking up some Bohemian Knights when they hit the shelves? Let us know in the comments!
