Warhammer 40K News: Space Marine 2, Dawn of War IV, and Autumn Preview Q&A

Warhammer 40K news is busy this week with major video game updates and preview follow-up.

Space Marine 2 gets fresh weapons, challenges, and class changes. Meanwhile, Dawn of War IV returns to Kronus with familiar Chapters joining forces. Finally, Games Workshop is preparing another Q&A after the Big Autumn Preview.

Space Marine 2 Anniversary Update Adds More Ways to Fight

Space Marine 2 adds a one-handed thunder hammer for Tactical, Assault, Bulwark, and Techmarine classes. It swings faster than the two-handed version and can charge area attacks. Tactical also receives a skill-tree overhaul, plus power axes and power swords. However, those melee weapons normally replace the primary weapon. A new Signature Perk moves the standard bolt rifle into the secondary slot. Crucible mode adds optional Penances, making Operations harder while rewarding Lamenters armour. Elsewhere, Exorcists receive cosmetics, while Space Wolves gain a Champion pack.

Warhammer 40K News

Chaos players can tackle a Siege variant against Tyranids, Guardsmen, and loyalist Marines. Additionally, Heroic weapons, armour pieces, wargear sharing, and new Ordeals arrive free. Year 3 promises more operations, weapons, and the Apothecary class.

Dawn of War IV Brings Dark Angels to Kronus

Dawn of War IV sends the Blood Ravens back to Kronus, threatened by Chronomancer Thothmek’s Necrons. Fortunately, Captain Cyrus receives Dark Angels support, including Deathwing Terminators and a bike-mounted Chaplain. In turn, Kronus matters more because the Great Rift disrupted Blood Ravens reinforcements. The game launches December 3, 2026, with Space Marines, Necrons, Orks, and Adeptus Mechanicus. Likewise, Commander Edition owners can start three days early.
