ITC Rebrand Will Replace the Independent Tournament Circuit With Warhammer Global Rankings

The ITC rebrand marks the end of one of competitive Warhammer’s most familiar names.

Beginning with the 2027 season, the circuit becomes the Warhammer Global Rankings. However, competitive rankings themselves are not disappearing. Instead, Games Workshop and Best Coast Pairings are reshaping the system under a distinctly Warhammer-branded identity.

Warhammer Global Rankings Replace the ITC Name

The change follows Games Workshop assuming management of the ITC from Frontline Gaming in 2024. Since then, the competitive calendar has increasingly centered on the World Championships of Warhammer instead of the Las Vegas Open. Consequently, replacing the ITC name represents another major break from the circuit’s origins.

Best Coast Pairings will remain the primary rankings and event-software partner, so tournament organizers should still recognize the underlying infrastructure. However, the scoring algorithm is also changing. Large events will continue awarding more points, but the gap between massive tournaments and smaller events will shrink. Therefore, players unable to regularly travel to supermajors should have a better opportunity to remain competitive in the rankings. Individual, team, and faction rankings will continue under the new system. Overall, the ITC rebrand looks like the final absorption into Games Workshop’s organized-play structure.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, the name is changing more dramatically than the core concept. However, the revised scoring could matter considerably for players competing mainly through regional events.
