First Blood Clash is giving Conquest players a much easier route into Para Bellum’s skirmish game.
Instead of learning army construction immediately, newcomers can start with a complete force. Meanwhile, veteran players gain a simple way to sample another faction. Most importantly, every Conquest army will eventually receive its own Clash release. This is a summary of a community post found here.
First Blood Clash Combines Starter Boxes With Ready-Made Armies

The new Clash format uses fixed 1,000-point First Blood army lists created by Para Bellum. Consequently, new players can concentrate on learning movement, combat, and scenarios instead of wrestling with list building. Each army matches the contents of a dedicated Clash Box, so there should be little confusion about what to buy. Better still, every box contains a thematic force rather than a random assortment of useful models. The first wave also introduces a new Warband of Legend for each participating faction. These provide alternate ways to muster and play forces, adding value beyond the beginner experience.

Additionally, every Clash Box is led by a brand-new Legendary Character. Those characters will initially be available through these sets, giving established players another reason to pay attention. Para Bellum clearly wants Clash to serve several audiences at once. Beginners get a clean entry point, existing players can start second armies quickly, and clubs gain an easier recruitment tool. That last part could matter considerably, because teaching miniature games becomes much easier when both players start with curated forces.
The format will keep expanding over the coming months until every faction receives a Clash Box. Furthermore, Para Bellum plans a new set of pitched scenarios specifically designed to support faster Clash games. Future articles will also explore each faction’s Legendary Character and accompanying Warband of Legend.
Final Thoughts
Overall, First Blood Clash looks like a smart solution to one of miniature gaming’s biggest barriers. New players can start playing before mastering army construction. Meanwhile, experienced players get thematic forces that remain interesting after the introductory games end.
