Astartes II finally has a release window, while Kharadron Overlords take center stage in Arkanaut. Together, they give 40K and Age of Sigmar fans something substantial to watch.
Astartes II Brings Deathwatch, Terminators, and Serious Space Hulk Energy
Astartes II is finally close, and the latest teaser leans hard into the atmosphere that made the original memorable. Most importantly, Deathwatch and Terminators appear prominently, confirming clues planted in the previous teaser. Storm bolters, a crackling power fist, and claustrophobic surroundings give the whole thing strong Space Hulk energy.
Games Workshop also hints that at least three different Space Marine characters and Chapters appear in the footage. That alone is exciting because their skyvessels and industrial duardin aesthetic should translate brilliantly into animation. Specifically, the three-part series follows the struggling Therodoson crew, flying an Arkanaut Frigate from Barak-Zilfin. However, this will not be a closed Kharadron story. Games Workshop confirms that several other Mortal Realms factions will appear, although their identities remain under wraps. Consequently, the Kharadron make great viewpoint characters for exploring different corners of the setting.
After all, they are merchants, explorers, mercenaries, and opportunists, so trouble can find them almost anywhere. Better yet, seeing an Arkanaut Frigate moving and firing should finally sell the scale of these machines. Finally, the first episode arrives on Warhammer TV in October for Warhammer+ subscribers.
