Conquest can be a glorious monster on the table. However, not every night needs a full army grind.
Sometimes, players need quicker games that still feel bloody and tactical. That is where Outriders steps in. This is a summary of the communit post found here
Fan-Made Rules Aim for Fast Narrative Play
This community project comes from Ryan, a Colorado Springs Vanguard, with Para Bellum spotlighting the work. Outriders is built for 800 to 1,000 point games of Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings. Also, it uses the normal ruleset, so players are not learning a separate game. The pack includes bespoke objectives, army restrictions, scenarios, and 900 point starter-box armies.
Meanwhile, Weather Conditions and Secret Operations add narrative modifiers for regular games too. Games use a 3 by 4 foot table over six rounds. They include four scenarios and randomized secondaries like Zones and Resources.
Summary and Final Thoughts
Overall, Outriders sounds ideal for escalation leagues, demos, and busy weeknights.
