Combat Patrol Finally Gets Proper App Support
Combat Patrol is now fully supported in the Warhammer 40,000 app, and that is a big quality-of-life win. The format already works well because armies are preset, games are compact, and model counts stay manageable. However, having rules scattered across products always made the beginner pitch messier.
Now, the app includes Combat Patrol datasheets, army rules, enhancements, and bespoke missions. Better yet, all Combat Patrol rules are free, with no codex, subscription, or rulebook required. War Journal support also lets players run Combat Patrol games and track scores in the app. That is exactly the kind of digital help new players need. Also, Armageddon owners already have the Ork ’Ardmob and Space Marines Assault Force patrols.
Exodites Get Lore Depth And DIY Terrain
The Exodite lore article gives these dinosaur-riding Aeldari the context they deserve. Long before the Fall, some Aeldari saw their civilization collapsing into decadence and chose exile. Instead of escaping at the last second aboard craftworlds, they left early through the Webway and smaller fleets. Therefore, Exodites intentionally abandoned corrupt luxury and settled harsh maiden worlds.
These worlds were often lush, but survival demanded discipline. Syph, the new Kill Team setting, is one such world, with jungles, seas, grasslands, and lethal wildlife. Unfortunately, Beast Snagga Orks have arrived after a Wurrboy’s visions promised dangerous prey. That is a perfect matchup, since both sides respect huge beasts in completely different ways.
Dragon Knights and Dragon Masters ride drakesteeds, wield laser lances, solar carbines, psychic gifts, and sniper skills. Also, Exodite world spirits replace infinity circuits, protecting dead souls through crystalline steles, menhirs, and barrow nexuses.
The free terrain template article is short, but it is a great hobby companion piece. Exodite worlds are dotted with stone steles, menhirs, nexoliths, and strange psychocrystalline structures. These constructions support the world spirit and help defend Exodite souls from She Who Thirsts.
Meanwhile, the Kill Team: Exodite dossier includes templates for building those structures from card. Games Workshop has made those templates available as a free download. That is a small thing, but it matters. Good thematic terrain makes skirmish games feel alive.

That is a great Heresy hook, because Salamanders stories always feel best when endurance turns into righteous violence. The Archaon reveal is pure collector bait in the best possible way. Wētā Workshop is producing a 1:10 scale Archaon the Everchosen statue, showing him at the cusp of the End Times. He rides Dorghar, covered in intricate wargear detail, including scraped Armour of Morkar plates and rivets.
Also, the statue includes two Sword of Kings options, with or without flame effects. The timing lines up with the Lords of the End Times update for Total War: Warhammer III.
