This Sunday Preview is packed with the kind of releases that make hobby plans spiral quickly.
The headline belongs to Aeldari Exodites, which finally return to the tabletop spotlight. However, Kill Team is only part of the story this week. Heresy players, Black Library readers, and Warhammer+ subscribers all get something worth watching.
Exodites Lead A Huge Week Of Pre-orders

Kill Team: Exodite is easily the flashiest release here, because the Aeldari dinosaur-riders are back after decades away. The box pits nomadic Exodite Dragon Masters against Beast Snagga Orks, which is an excellent narrative pairing. After all, few things feel more Warhammer than elegant space elves clashing with reckless Orks over a dangerous frontier.

The Exodite side includes five elite operatives: three Dragon Masters and two Drakolithes. Since they are few in number, the team sounds like it will reward careful movement, durability, and precise strikes.

Meanwhile, the opposing narrative forces include 10 Beast Snagga Boyz and five Squighog Boyz as enemy NPOs. The box also includes the Kill Team: Exodite Dossier, 88 datacards, an Exodite transfer sheet, and useful tokens. That is a strong self-contained package, especially for players who love campaign-style Kill Team. Warhammer 40,000 terrain also gets a serious boost.

The Combat Patrol Battlezone includes 15 terrain pieces, a double-sided board, and terrain footprints. That should give newer players a proper small battlefield without needing three separate purchases. However, the preview notes these kits are unpainted, with the ready-painted terrain arriving later. Standalone terrain kits are also coming, including Manufactorum Ruins, Capacitor Cluster, and Galvanic Network sets.

Then the Astra Militarum Spectre Squad gets its own standalone release after appearing in Kill Team: Terror on Devlan. These sharpshooters and infiltration specialists sound like the kind of Guard unit that rewards ambush play.

Also, their datacard pack includes 40 cards covering rules, ploys, equipment, and datasheets. Several former Kill Team kits also return as regular Warhammer 40,000 multipart plastic releases.

Kroot Farstalkers, Navy Breachers, Exaction Squad, Fellgor Beastmen, Raptors, and Kasrkin are all coming back for broader army use.

That is great news because many of those kits became army staples beyond Kill Team.

Horus Heresy players get plenty too, starting with a new 20-model MkIV Tactical Squad box. It builds either two 10-man squads or one big 20-man block, and it supports previous weapon upgrades.

The new MkIV Assault Squad includes 10 jump pack Marines with bolt pistols and chainswords.

Better yet, it includes power lances, power fists, and lightning claws for Veteran Assault Squad builds. The combi-weapons and shotguns upgrade set adds combi-volkites, combi-flamers, combi-plasmas, combi-meltas, shotguns, and 60 accessories.

Finally, Black Library brings paperback editions of Archmagos and The Relentless Dead, plus French and German editions of Hive Part 2.

Warhammer+ adds Scribes and Scriveners with Jonathan D Beer, a Khorne versus Ogors Battle Report, and a Seraphon Armies of Renown feature.
Summary and Final Thoughts

Overall, this preview works because it covers nearly every kind of hobbyist. Kill Team fans get Exodites, 40K players get terrain and returning units, and Heresy players get serious MkIV support. Meanwhile, Black Library and Warhammer+ keep the week from feeling purely product-driven. Still, the Exodites are the star here. If their rules match the models, Kill Team just got a very memorable faction moment.
