The first multipart plastic kit will be ideal for players of Lion Rampant, Saga: Age of Chivalry, Nevermind The Billhooks and more! Let’s take a look.
Connoisseurs of medieval and fantasy themed multi part kits will likely instantly recognize North Star Military Figures as the purveyors of Frostgrave and Oathmark. North Star has recently announced that they are going feet first into historical plastic production with a range of Hussite/Bohemian War sets. The first of these sets is Bohemian Knights (On Foot), tantalizingly inferring that mounted knights will be coming soon!

As stated by North Star in their announcement, these knights “will be suitable to use for all European conflicts of the 15th Century. But designer Matt Bickley has added lots of detail to these models that were popular styles in Bohemia/ Germany/ Central Europe at this time.” Indeed, wealthy knights and nobles in this period might contract famous arms and armorers from anywhere in Europe to make the best armaments they could afford.

The single frame (shown front and back) by North Star appears to come with a very impressive set of options, even by their standards. There are eight sets of legs with separate torsos, giving enourmous variation from the get go, with eight visor options that can be affixed open or closed. For weapons there are only hand weapon options and four shields (which were declining in popularity and necessity during this period as armor became better a more complete option), however one of the marketing images shows a knight carrying a two handed hammer that is not on the frame, as does another image on the North Star facebook page. Whether these are other sprues from this set or a different one in the range remains to be seen.

As for the future of the range, North Star has already promised War Wagons and Artillery in plastic, which is a very exciting prospect! Apart from that there is little to no other information about future kits, besides the hint of mounted knights. What do you think of this news? Will you be picking up some Bohemian Knights on foot when they become available? Sound off in the comments!
