The Weaver Courts keep getting stranger in the best way. Fianna Cavalry bring that eerie fae energy into a fast mounted unit.
They are not simple hammer cavalry, though. Instead, they look like a sneaky pressure piece that punishes poor spacing. For players who enjoy threat projection and mind games, that is a great hook. This is a summary pf Para Bellum’s article found here.
Fianna Cavalry Bring Speed, Prowl, and a Brutal Pounce

The Fianna Cavalry are presented as descendants of those favored by the rulers and Consorts of the Weaver Courts. That pedigree matters, since their status carries through generations and funds their extravagant wargear. As a result, they ride exotic hybrid beasts into combat, striking enemies of the Faerann like a thunderbolt from clear skies. On the table, that background translates into cavalry that stalk, prowl, and pounce where opponents least expect them.
In The Last Argument of Kings, the regiment costs 160 points, with additional stands at 50 points each. It is Medium Cavalry with Movement 8, Vanguard 4, Impact 3, Opportunist, Unstoppable, and Prowl. Also, its battlefield role matches the army warlord’s Seasonal Court, which should make it easier to fit into different Weaver builds. Prowl is the big trick. While active, enemies 8 inches or farther away cannot draw Line of Sight to the unit. However, the regiment suffers a March penalty, cannot count for Seizing, and loses Prowl if enemies get too close with Line of Sight.

It also drops Prowl after Volley or Spellcasting actions. Then Pounce gives the unit its teeth, letting it voluntarily lose Prowl during activation to gain Terrifying 1 and Linebreaker. That is exactly the kind of “now you see me, now you regret it” rule good skirmish cavalry should have. In First Blood, the Fianna Cavalry appear as a Mainstay Regiment with Impact 1, Flank, Vanguard, Opportunist, Feth Fíada, and Natural Predator. While Obscured, Feth Fíada prevents them from being targeted by Volley Actions. Meanwhile, Natural Predator treats them as near a friendly Bloom Marker while in Zonal Terrain.
Summary and Final Thoughts
Overall, Fianna Cavalry look like a flavorful control-and-strike unit. They should reward careful terrain use, timing, and threat angles. Better yet, they feel distinctly fae rather than generic mounted elites.
