GW 5/30 Pre-Orders: A Quiet Week and A New Way to Get HIVE

While we have no new pre-orders here, GW has announced they are shifting the HIVE book release from just a few stores to being available to print on demand.

The big update is that the planned in-store release for the premium edition has been cancelled. That sounds dramatic at first, but the replacement is much more collector-friendly. From Saturday, 30 May, until 8am UK time on Friday, 5 June, two versions of Hive will be available on Warhammer.com through print-on-demand. Better still, anyone who orders during that window is guaranteed a copy. The premium edition still includes two volumes with unique cover artwork, blood-red page edges, red ribbon bookmarks, and a decorative slipcase.

Meanwhile, the regular hardback edition is also returning, also as two volumes in a slipcase. However, there is one important collector note. This print-on-demand premium edition will not be signed by Dan Abnett or individually numbered. Since the books are being printed to meet demand, production and delivery may take up to 180 days. Even so, that tradeoff feels reasonable. It replaces a stressful store hunt with a fairer system, especially for fans who live far from selected stores. Local Warhammer stores can still help customers order through store terminals.

In the meantime check out our secondhand store as we anticipate a big pre-order week next Saturday!
