Games Workshop unveils the latest Ork line refresh that’s been 18 years in the making!

Games Workshop revealed the latest miniature that will be included in the upcoming 11th Edition box set, and this time it’s the Ork Wierdboy. A couple of years ago we got the AMAZING refresh of the Ork Big Mek, and boy oh boy does this new Wierdboy refresh deliver.
Last week I reviewed the, meh, release of the Space Marine Vanguard Veteran refresh. The Wierdboy though? Chefs kiss. He DRIPS character. Everything about this guy is dynamic. You can FEEL the energy building around him just as he is about to unleash the power of the WAAGH. He’s also on the popular tactical rock, which is basically just the 90’s goblin green bases for modern Games Workshop.
It’s got some clever throwbacks to the original.

The last Ork Wierdboy release? Back in 2008. Remember that time? The Dark Knight was released in theaters and we were listening to ‘Low’ by Flo Rida, getting our groove on. Also, a global financial collapse led to bank failures, massive job losses, and a U.S. recession. Times were just FUN. You know?
Here were are, 18 years later and times couldn’t be better. The world might be on the brink of Armageddon, the the world of Warhammer 40,0000? Also on the brink of Armageddon! Were just having fun here, guys, lighten up OK?
I’ve gotta say, I love the direction that Games Workshop has gone over the past couple of years with the Ork releases. Over the past 6 years from Ghazghkull’s release in 2020, Games Workshop have been slowly rebuilding the Ork line into this new aesthetic. Truly, the only classic Ork model that needs a refresh are the Ork Warbikers, which were released in the same time period as the metal Wierdboy.

Anyways, let me know what you think about the latest 11th edition boxed set model reveal? Was it a hit? Was it a dud? What do you hope to see next?
