Hi there, this the the next article covering my local gaming group’s battle through the Bagration Firestorm campaign, using a modified set of 3rd edition rules. You can see the past articles here!
For this round there is no bonus to the roll to attack so it will be a straight roll off. Here is the map at the beginning of the turn:
Game 1: German Assault on Karpilovka (Soviet Victory)
German heavy tanks bog down crossing the river as the soviets hold open the vital supply route!
Game 2: Soviet Assault on Berezino (Hungarian Victory)
The Hungarians make their first appearance of the campaign, holding the Soviets out of the territory with a sterling river defense.
Game 3: Allied Assault on Dobryna (German Victory)
A strong Churchill-led assault falls just short of breaking the German lines, thanks to the valiant effort of 3 Panther tanks!
Game 4: Soviet Assault on Berezina (Soviet Victory)
The Soviets finally break the Hungarian lines, pushing them to the gates of Bobruisk!
Game 5: German Assault on Karpilovka (German Victory)
The Germans slam the door shut on the Soviet advance trapping an advance team of Soviets and capturing them in a pocket.
Game 6: German Assault on Pripyat (American Victory)
Despite being out of supply the Americans roll a 6! And thus they are fearless for this battle! Managing to fend off the Hungarians as the pocket remains intact.
Game 7: British Assault on Karpilovka (German Victory)
The British AVREs and flail tanks fail to break into the german lines after running into a some Jadgdpanzer IV As!
Game 8: Soviet Assault on Bobruisk (Soviet Victory)
The soviets finally take Bobruisk, after a few infantry teams manage to overcome a German assault!
Game 9: German Assault on Pripyat (Soviet Victory)
The Soviets again, roll a 6 for being out of supply and thus are super fearless, halting the german heavy tank assault!
Game 10: Hungarian Assault on Bobruisk (Hungarian Victory)
The Hungarians continue their rampage, wresting control of Bobruisk back into Axis hands after a bloody street fight!
Post Game Maneuvers
The Germans and Soviets solidify their positions around the key city of Bobruisk, both angling to counter any enemy advance. The Soviet troops in Pripyat are contained but there is an avenue of escape there…if they can just break through!
