If you are always eyeing the next army project, this news lands perfectly. Combat Patrol stays the best on ramp for a faction.
It plays fast as its own balanced mode. And it also seeds a full sized army later. So this latest wave feels like a real hobby push.
According to a Warhammer Community reveal, the fighting around the Maelstrom is heating up. Consequently, the shadow of Huron Blackheart hangs over the region. Therefore, four fresh Combat Patrols are here to shore up the forces. Even better, each box builds a full Kill Team, too.
Combat Patrol: Aeldari Corsairs go full pirate speed
First up, the Corsairs are leaning hard into mobility. These raiders have been around the galactic core forever. Meanwhile, Prince Yriel striking out makes their whole scene feel louder.
The box centres on Kharseth the Void Dreamer and 10 Corsair Voidreavers. Also, they ride into trouble in a Wave Serpent, which is just classic Eldar style. Above them, five new Corsair Skyreavers provide airborne cover, so the whole package screams hit and run.
However, the box is also flexible for collectors. The Voidreavers can instead be built as the more specialised Corsair Voidscarred. Likewise, the Wave Serpent kit can swap into a Falcon grav tank if you want heavier guns.
Combat Patrol: Kroot bring teeth, speed, and big beasts
Next, the Kroot get to stand on their own feet. Sure, they often appear with T’au cadres. However, they are mercs first, and they thrive as kinbands.
This set mixes stealthy skirmishers with hard hitting monsters. You get a Farstalker Kinband of 10 Kroot plus two Kroot Hounds. Then, a Lone spear stalks with them, which adds that elite hunter vibe. Meanwhile, a mature Krootox Rider provides fire support. And then three Krootox Rampagers bring the real wrecking ball energy.
They do not care much about armour. Instead, they rely on speed and brutality. Consequently, the box feels like it will play aggressive and scrappy.
Combat Patrol: Red Corsairs and Night Lords bring Chaos variety
On the Chaos side, the Red Corsairs box leans direct and violent. It includes a Reave Captain and five Red Corsairs Raiders as the elite core. Meanwhile, 10 Fellgor Ravagers pile in as close combat muscle and fire sponges. Also, you get a Chaos Rhino, fully kitted, to keep your raiders moving safely.
Finally, the Night Lords Combat Patrol is the one you do not want behind you. It features a Chaos Lord with a jump pack leading the strike. Then, five Chosen and 10 Legionaries back him up, plus a Chaos Rhino for mobility. Better yet, the Legionaries swap to the Night Lords themed sprue from the Nemesis Claw Kill Team. So you get loads of Nostraman flavour, especially those iconic winged helmets.
All four Combat Patrols are coming very soon, including through the webstore. So if you have been meaning to try Kill Team, this is a sneaky perfect excuse.
