Blood Bowl has been back in full swing since Third Season Edition dropped in 2025. So, coaches everywhere have rediscovered sportsmanship and a healthy appetite for violence.
Now, a long missing squad finally steps back into the spotlight. And yes, the High Elves are here to make the whole league look underdressed.
They roll in from Ulthuan with elegance, swagger, and fewer back alley stabbings than their Dark Elf cousins. However, they are still here to win, not to be polite. So, expect a lot of smooth passing, clean footwork, and sudden moments where someone gets flattened. The Caledor Dragons are the team carrying the banner, and they look ready to pirouette straight into the end zone.
The Caledor Dragons Roster: Six Stars and a Strong Core
Half the box is the flashy stuff, and it is stacked with six special positionals. You get two White Lions blitzers, and they come with Claws. So, they are built for cracking cages and ripping open defensive screens. You also get two Phoenix Warriors throwers, who are clearly meant to run the “High Elf highlight reel” game plan, thanks to Secure Pass and Cloud Burster for those big, arcing throws.
Then you get two Dragon Princes, and they bring Block and Steady Footing. Therefore, they can throw hands and still keep their scoring threat alive. That mix is classic High Elf energy, since they want to fight just enough. Meanwhile, they also want to look good doing it.
Backing them up are six High Elf Linemen. They do not have special skills, but they are not dead weight either. They move at MA6 and they have AG 2+, so they are dependable utility pieces. Also, every player in the team sits at Armour Value 9+, which is wild for an elf squad. So, they stay upright more often than you would expect, and that matters over a season.
Extra Bits and Spike! Journal Issue 21 Support
The box also throws in useful match tools. You get two turn and re roll markers, plus two double sided Blood Bowl coins. You also get four balls, specifically two Dragonling balls and two Shimmer Stone balls. These have rules coming in Spike! Journal Issue 21, so they are not just fancy props.
Spike! Journal Issue 21 is doing the full lore and league support treatment. It is packed with trivia and background on High Elf teams, and it zooms in on the Caledor Dragons in particular. Their story includes a brutal low point, since they were nearly destroyed by the Darkside Cowboys. However, they clawed back into relevance with recent success. That resurgence is tied to new leadership under Eltharion the Amiable, who is Prince Moranion’s son.
Rules wise, the journal lets you run the Caledor Dragons at peak form. It includes a special team rule for them, which is the kind of thing that makes a themed roster feel unique. It also adds rules for the Spectacle of the Flame Eternal. That is an Elven Kingdom Teams league, and you can dedicate your squad to one of eight different gods. So, it sounds like you get both narrative flavour and league level incentives.
On top of that, you still get the familiar Spike! structure. There is a coaching guide, plus returning columns like Chat with a Rat and Dirt from the Dugout. So, it is not just rules, it is also the usual in universe nonsense that makes Blood Bowl feel alive.
Pitch, Cards, Dice, and the “Go Look at the Rest” Sendoff
Alongside the team and the journal, there is more themed kit on the way. You can grab a double sided pitch and dugout set, and it is described as suitably opulent. So, your High Elves can play in the kind of luxury they think they deserve. You can also pick up the standard team card pack for quick reference, and there is a thematic dice set to match.
Finally, the piece closes by pointing out there are more reveals in the preview hub. In other words, this is one shiny elf announcement in a bigger pile of new toys.
Summary
The High Elves return to Blood Bowl with the Caledor Dragons team box, bringing six star positionals, a sturdy AV 9+ roster, and a clean mix of cage cracking blitzers, premium throwers, and scoring ready Dragon Princes, while six agile linemen round out a surprisingly resilient elf core. Spike! Journal Issue 21 backs them with lore, team rules for running the Dragons at full power, and a new Elven Kingdom league framework called the Spectacle of the Flame Eternal that lets you pledge your team to one of eight gods, plus the usual coaching and gossip columns that keep the setting spicy. You also get the extra match kit, special balls with upcoming rules support, and optional luxury add ons like an opulent pitch, team cards, and themed dice, so the High Elves can win in style while everyone else complains about it.
