Take a look at some of these units going out to pasture as Legends. What do you think about it? Any units got you sad to see moving to the sidelines?
So the legends units are still good to go for casual play but unlikely to see the tabletop in competitive play. Pretty hard blow to those that invested into them but also, from a game design perspective, understandable. What are your thoughts on this?
It saddens me,I have been in warhammer for 30+ years .90% of these are not super meta janky models, just old cool lore and sculpts.most of us don’t care they hinder a competitive list. There’s a difference between modelers who play with toy soldiers, and gamers who buy figures to make a list.🙂
This is absolutely BS! After spending thousands of dollars and who knows how many hours on a chapter sized army of Space Marine models, as well as the paints and tools to make these models gorgeous for tournament play, then redoing almost 950 bases to make sure the models would legally fit on the correct base to play in their games. Games Workshop declares their models, their paints, their brand new bases aren’t good enough to play in one of their tournaments. This has absolutely nothing to do with rules or anything of the sort. This is just a pathetic cash grab to try and force people to spend even more money on their crap. I guess it’s just going to save me money and cost GW my money as I am not giving anymore money to my Iron Snakes Chapter just to please the corporate A-holes that have ruined a once awesome company. I am close to quitting this company all together, but don’t know if I can yet quit my Guard.
Are Iron Snakes secretly a World Eaters successor chapter? I’m assumimg they are, because only blind berserker rage could justify intentionally overlooking the 30,000 times GW has pre-approved and encouraged running firstborn units as counts-as for Primaris.
I also am curious why you aren’t highly placed on hobby track given how well-painted your army must be. Some insights would, I’m sure, be very enlightening.
Nearly everything that GW has moved to legends has a modern day analogue that can counts as so you can still play your models… Assault marines = assault intercessors (with or without jump packs), bikers = outriders. You’ve already rebased everything so just do that. It sounds like you’re just complaining about primaris that are slightly larger and have better detail since they aren’t 20+ years old. Its been 7 years since they first launched primaris. You knew what was coming, but incase you don’t spoiler alert: all the rest of the first born with either be incorporated into modern units or go to legends next edition.

You’re probably right.
It saddens me that after being involved in Warhammer for over 30 years, 90% of the models I own aren’t super meta janky. They’re just old, cool lore and sculpts. For most of us, it doesn’t matter if they hinder a competitive list. There’s a distinction between modelers who play with toy soldiers and gamers who buy figures to optimize their lists. geometry dash lite
