This Week in the ITC: The Las Vegas Open Begins in 2 Days!

Hello, Warhammer 40k fans! I am John Weyermuller (SaltyJohn), from TFG Radio and head judge for the Las Vegas Open here to talk about the LVO which is a short 2 days away!

Heading into the Las Vegas Open 2022 there has been a last-minute shake-up in the top 10! Mani Cheema managed to take a billion wracks to a GT in Europe, win, and take over the number one spot right before the LVO ends the ITC season! Talk about creating a narrative going into the final event of the season.

Mani has put together an impressive season thus far and it will be fun to see the top players fight for not only the number 1 finish at LVO but the number one spot in the ITC as well! Besides Mani, the top ten is heavily populated with some of the best players to ever play Warhammer 40k competitively. They also represent a healthy cross-section of faction choices throughout the year.

With 4 members of Art of War in the top 10 the boys at AoW are trying to solidify their place in the competitive world with some strong showings and a big win at LVO. There isn’t a name on that list that players shouldn’t be excited to follow at the Las Vegas Open and see how their ITC season ends up. We also see AoW sitting atop the ITC Team rankings.

When you add in all the different faction leaders and ranking the LVO 2022 is going to have some of the most intense competition for prizes we’ve ever seen. There are a lot of factions that saw massive play this year, more than in any other year, and with new GSC and Custodes codices being used at the event those faction leaders are set to have some big showdowns as well! Speaking of Custodes and GSC, it is really important that all players make sure they read the player packet! I put together this short video from the LVO Judges as another way to get some information out to everyone attending the 40k Champs event.

Besides watching the video and reading the player packet. Please, if you didn’t see the hyperlinks in the packet itself, pay attention to and read the FLG Event FAQ and the ITC Code of Conduct. This information has been out there a long time, so please familiarize yourself with it before coming to the event! If you don’t know who the Senior LVO Judge staff are going into the weekend, please read my previous FLG Article! I love judging the Las Vegas Open and I enjoy seeing, and meeting, so many of you in the community who I only get to interact with online for large parts of the year. I hope to see many of you at the Rio in a few short days!
