T’au keep coming in strong with these previews. This time we’re seeing the upgrades to their prototype systems.
Along with the stratagem that dropped not too long ago, it’s looking like T’au are getting more options for mortal wounds. What’s nice is that this means T’au can deal damage outside of the shooting phase making C’tans just a tad bit easier for them to deal with, although it’s still going to be pretty rough for them.
Very interesting, T’au get’s access to a baby Agents of Vect where they increase the use of a stratagem used on an opponent’s enemy unit by 1. It’s also active for the the entire turn, so if they really want to try and burn down a Ghostkeel, they’re gonna have to spend some extra CP to do it.
Interesting. We’ve already gotten these types of weapons, but what’s interesting here is that it’s D6+2 damage. That’s a whole lot of hurt you can put into a unit, granted it’s only 1 shot but sometimes that’s all you really need. If you can get a good line-up you can maybe tag 2 or 3 units, but with a 12″ range it might be kind of hard.
A 4+++ on a unit for a turn is actually pretty spicy. You’re saving a bunch of wounds off this alone and helps against both shooting/melee as well as mortal wounds.
Those are all of the updates we have seen so far for T’au and with each preview it’s looking scarier and scarier, but this one feels like a soft ball to help ease our minds. Nothing stands out as being too overtly powerful and I’m all for it.
