Looks like the Amazon Prime Lord of the Rings series will be getting the name – The Rings of Power
The Amazon Prime Youtube channel just dropped this trailer for their new Lord of the Rings series that’s either going to thrill audience members or make them as upset as when they watched the Hobbit series.
One of the coolest parts about these pieces of media are the ways they utilize special effects. The original LOTR trilogy was a cinematic advancement and so it was also pretty cool watching this exclusive behind the scenes video of the making for the Teaser, even though it’s only 39 seconds long and is only showing how they did the title card for the video.
As much as I dislike seeing teaser’s where it’s just a title, it’s nice pushing out into the public that the show is finally getting it’s release for September 2, 2022. Not much is known about the show so far besides how Amazon spent $250 million for the rights to Tolkien’s original text and also went for a 5 season commitment of around $1 billion. That’s the most expensive TV series ever created.
For now we know that the show will not be reworking the original trilogy and will be set before the times of Frodo Baggins. What is going to happen in the show is up for speculation at this point.
