GW Grognard: Loose Lips Sink Ships

Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to talk about things that come to my mind, whether you want to hear about it or not.

There has been a lot of talk lately about a lot of armies. For a while we wouldn’t hear a word about any of the new books coming out until we saw it on Warhammer Community. Nowadays, it seems like you are seeing info on upcoming books everywhere. You can’t seem to take 2 steps before you trip over another piece of information and YouTube channels with horrible voice overs are making mountains out of the smallest molehill to get the clicks. If you are trying to avoid these spoilers then here are a few tips on how to avoid hearing about the latest leaks.

Don’t Go on the Internet

Do this immediately after reading this article, and visiting the secondhand shop. I believe this is the best way to avoid any advance knowledge that could ruin the joy of discovering new rules for your army, for better or for worse. So unplug your computer and put your phone in airplane mode. You don’t need to call anyone that might spoil it. If you use a computer for work, ask them to block all the websites not for work, if they don’t do that already, and be sure to report your coworkers, that also happen to play 40K, to the IT department. I’m sure your friends will greatly appreciate it.

Avoid People

Even when you avoid the internet there are still people that you meet that can tell you all about the leaks. The best way to combat this is to simply avoid people. many of us should be adept at this by this point and now you can utilize those avoidance skills once again. Those that have avoided bill collectors over the years have an even greater advantage and once you turn these skills towards the general public people won’t be able to find you at all and thus not ruin your enjoyment of your new codex when you finally come out of your metaphorical cave in order to buy the codex.

Cover Your Ears and Eyes

This is really a last resort in case the other two options do not work. You will have to cover both your eyes and ears so you do not read or hear anything whatsoever. Just to warn you, it does make it difficult to function in everyday life if you are not used to living like this. I use it often, mainly for my home life not for 40K, and it does present some issues. For instance, according to my wife our car insurance has gone through the roof anytime I did this. At least that is what I assume she is saying as I blind folded myself and covered my ears as soon as I saw her coming with a bill in her hand.

That’s all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think, and how you keep from seeing spoilers, in the comments section below. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
