Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to do what everyone does, make new year promises that you will break.
Well, I managed another year and as far as I know I am still writing the article. This time of year many of us are always looking to the future and what we can do next on the table top. As many people do we make promises to do certain things both on and off the tabletop. Unfortunately not all of them come to fruition, but we still try. This year is no different and so without further adieu, here are a few things I hope to accomplish in the coming year.
Paint My Black Legion
As you should know by now I am a long time chaos player. I can truly claim to fighting the Long War as I have been playing and collection models for my Black Legion, and Chaos as a whole, since the early 90’s. Even with all those models there are still some that I haven’t painted yet. I mean I have the models and they are built but I just never got around to painting them. You would think it would be easy too since the main color is black. The hard part for me is all the banding but it is a small price to pay. With the announcement of the Chaos and Eldar box set it just tells me that a new codex should be out fairly soon so I need to get my guys ready. Luckily I don’t have too many models or units to paint so it should be fairly quick process. I plan to be ready to hi the ground running when that codex hits the streets. I can’t wait.
Get My Historicals Channel Going
If you don’t listen to the podcast you may not know it but I love playing historical miniatures as much as I love 40K so you may want to just skip this part if it doesn’t interest you. I had been planning to create a YouTube channel for battles reports and such for historical games but it has been a slow start with a lot of delays. I am hoping that this year will be the year that it gets off the ground. The plan is to start out slow and maybe do more episodes as people demand and I have time. I really want to do it as an excuse to play more games and get more models to add to my ever growing miniatures collection, but don’t tell my wife that.
Go to Even More Events
I went to a lot of events this year. I judged 7 GTs this year, along with a number of RTTs, and played in 1 GT, along with a number of RTTs and leagues, as well. That seems to be a lot. This coming year I plan to go to more events. I do enjoy the judging aspect of the hobby and running events for the enjoyment of others, which is why I am will to travel the country judging events at some cost to me. As a judge I actually get to interact with more players then when I am participating in an event and just interacting with my opponents. Luckily I have the time, because my kid is out of the house, and an understanding spouse, that allows me to do this. So if you are going to a FLG event I will most likely be there so be sure to say hi!
That’s all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think, and your plans for the new year, in the comments section below. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
