Nerdery: Dorohedoro Becoming an Anime!

Dorohedoro is one of my hands-down, all-time favorite manga series and now it’s coming to life in an anime!

Mildly NSFW. It is such a good mix of action, horror, and comedy. It takes place in a truly horrific world but the creator, Q Hayashida, does such a good job of grounding the characters in very human emotions and interpersonal relationships that it feels lighthearted (even though it truly is not, lol) and believable.

Also, the distinct art style is also awesome and helps build the very gritty and dark setting. It’s certainly not for everyone but if you enjoy a mix of gallows humor, great character development and a truly bizarre but amazing universe, check it out!

    This looks pretty cool. After your Berserk recommendation (which has become my straight up favorite work of fiction ever) I’m gonna check this out for sure.

    BTW are you caught up on Berserk? The last chapter hit like a bomb

      Yeah, this is such an awesome series, I love it. It’s not as dark as Berserk but the slight lightheartedness of it is the best part, IMO.

      And no, not caught up on Berserk! I am going to order the collector’s edition that just came out and start over, lol!
