Nerdery: Sandman Comic to be Adapted into Netflix Series

For any comic lovers out there like me, this is exciting news!

The Sandman is one of–if not the best–comics Neil Gaiman has written and widely considered to be a masterpiece of the genre. There’s been a multitude of attempts to bring it to either the big or small screen but none have gotten off the ground. Now, Netflix has picked it up and it’s rumored to be the biggest budget DC television production to date.

The Sandman is a dark, horror/fantasy series that dives deep into some pretty interesting topics in a surreal setting. If done well, this will make for some very interesting storytelling.

No news as when this will hit the streaming service but I’m sure we’ll be learning more in the near future.

  1. Super mixed feelings on this. The story is sprawling, and as you say, a masterpiece. It needs to be more than the biggest budget DC project. Biggest budget TV project would be a good start. It’ll still probably end up sucking, and I’m the most optimistic person I know fwiw.
