Reecius’ army is Catachan, all the way! With loads of flame weapons to take advantage of their amazing Regimental Doctrines and special order, this is a mobile, mechanized army that can do some serious damage at close range! For his Warlord Trait, Reecius chose the awesome Grand Strategist. It takes advantage of many of the new special rules and stratagems available to Astra Militarum but can it overcome the Death Guard?

So can I assume this list is intended to play with a variety of models and not actually a highly tuned army?
I think it is quite good, personally. I have done very well with it in many practice games, but eh, YMMV.
I’m just unaccustomed to that level of variety in Heavy Support choices lol
Ah, yeah, I have always played that way. I actually find it to be very good. Some games the Manticore is the best, some the Wyvern, etc. It gives me flexibility which I value over pure power as I find I win more consistently that way and can overcome a wide variety of mission/opponent/deployment combos whereas focusing on a single unit too much can leave you weak in some match-ups.

If it was Death Guard + Renegade Warband would that make people roll their eyes as much as Alpha Legion? Just curious if I change my CSM army legion if I can get some underdog status.
Do the Vets get Obsec in the new codex? Or are you running a list without Obsec?
I do have ObSec, but I cannot disclose where it is in the list just yet =) Have to wait for the dex for that.

So LRBTs now cost 125pts and Heavy Weapon Squads now cost 5pts. I am curious if all infantry have increased by a point. I sure hope so since it will put them in line with other troop options of other armies.

@Frankie Daemon prince cost 170 with wings in heretic astartes + 10 pts malefic talons you need pay 180 not 170
The right hand column of the army list has the points cost for unit upgrades, Talons are on there.
