Article is all hot our. I’m optimistic about 8th but Frontline is starting to lose my trust with all the gw jerking
I imagine (and hope) we’ll start seeing criticism of things once it’s released and they don’t have a gag order.
Until then, I’m sure we can all survive overwhelming positivity.
Lol, yeah, it’s funny, what is expected, that we bash GW after working hard to build trust with one another? Lol, come on guys.
Once things happen and we’re in to what will come, you can expect the same feedback we always give about things, but for now everyone must be patient and just enjoy the hype train ride!
Chaos, on topic, looks so good!
It’s a great article by Frankie. I appreciate all y’alls hard work !!! ?
Thanks, buddy!
It’s a great article by Frankie and I appreciate your hard work.
Exactly. I know where you guys are coming from. Gotta do what ya gotta do for now my dude.
Thank you for understanding!
That’s just how it works. And if their influence gives us an actually playable game I think they took one for all players.
I mean they even started AOS for it. They might never feel clean again…
Considering how rough and weary 7th was, I can only imagine AoS was a breath of fresh air for them.
“This game we put hundreds of hours into play testing, working with GW to help improve is really bad you guys”
Come on now.
Also, things can be good, not everything is awful, every now and again something worth being excited about happens!
Getting to say something positive isn’t ‘jerking’.
Lol, right?
Chaos Space Marines in a Chaos Space Marine army?!?! You need to lay off the cough syrup Frankie, seriously man, we’re worried about you 😉
Great work Frankie! They are really building up the excitement of the new edition of the game. Kind of wish they would just release it now and let us get on with enjoying it! Interested to see what units will be returning. The info they release on the Morkanaut/Gorkanaut makes it look immense!
Yeah, big changes on the way =)
Who knew Frankie could write, huh?
lol
Nice and generic 😛
Can’t wait until we can see some more substantial information on everything!
Yeah, we can’t actually give up any information, yet. Just have to be patient a bit longer =)
Hooked on phonics really paid off! Good stuff Frankie
Yo, Frankie, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Reecé has the review I’m second most excited about! The review I’m second most excited about!
IG!
Merciful Emperor, please allow ratings, Ogryns, and Rough Riders to be good!
Then I think you’ll be pretty stoked 🙂
Reece dont toy with me now …
If Ogryns are viable again I will be buying several boxes!
Ps I like how the first few comments were questionable but on a whole they’re positive.
Appreciate the time you put in to make the next edition all it can be! 🙂
I have 5 2nd ed Ogryns that are the models I have owned the longest. I haven’t used them in a serious game since 1998. Two models got me into 40k, Ogryns and Snakebite Boar Riders.
The new rattling models are some I feel all of them ever made. And I’ve had ideas for converting Roughriders for years. In 3rd Edition I had 20 Roughriders using the Tallarn models and cold ones from fantasy.
There’s just never been a real use for them because point-for-point it was always better to either have more Guardsman or more vehicles.
Tempestus Scions. That’s the army I want to build next. I want them to be viable, without adding Knights. They’re so close now. Really, they just need a little help. And a points reduction, especially on the Taurox.
No offense to Frankie or any of you guys, but I’m disappointed GW didn’t let you write any more of these articles. Was hoping they’d let you put at least one profile or army special rule or something in there. They didn’t let you put anything of substance in it except “hey I think this dude is cool.”
Any more in** these articles
Yeah, understandable. But, they’re meant to be more exciting than spoiler, you know? We’d love to say more but we must remain patient for the time being.
I am excited about being able to finally field my marines, but can you guys say whether cultists appear to be as good as they are now? Because I have like 200 of the buggers, and rather enjoy fielding them and watching them die over and over in terrible ways.
BTW Frankie I enjoyed your write up, especially the bit about the brave little champions… SO TRUE!
They can’t be any worse.
Personally I just like them because they are 4 ppm. I would prefer 3 (like a guardsmen). It would be cool if marks were more reasonable to take for them too.
Bottom line- If Frankie believes what he wrote, that’s a damn good sign.
LIES AND SLANDER! Frankie cannot read and write! Quoting the fluff! HERESY I tell you!
All joking aside, well written article and a real joy to read. Cannot wait to see the CSM’s full rules.
So glad people like yourselves were included in the play testing.
Please ignore the butt hurt minority on the internet
Do noise marines not suck in this edition? Do I get to use my purple and pink bad asses again?
I would say noise marines are already pretty good.
Then again I suppose there’s a difference between ‘noise marines are good’ and ‘blastmasters are good’.
Slannesh Marines in general… I’m nervous, lol! Initiative is gone, and Fearless isn’t a thing… sonic weapons ignore cover, but keep the models’ original save (at least now.)
I could see Slaanesh getting a huge boost and some sort of “always strikes first” boost, or just a +1 to Move. I can see them being “Stubborn” or just dropping that bit altogether.
GW doesn’t seem to have a great idea what to do with Slannesh usually, so a new edition or rules always leaves me a bit nervous.
I’ve been really hoping that Salvo goes away, and Sonic Blasters become Rapid Fire 2 or something like that since we saw Bolters listed as Rapid Fire 1.
So, I’m curious because ATC is coming up and we will likely be playing 8th edition. But, there will be at least one team there who has been playing it for at least one month that we know of, who knows how many more, before it’s release. Will ZeroComp be playing with a handicap of sorts? Or, are we willing to accept that months of knowledge is not an advantage as we scrambled to list build and playtest before we spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to attend the event?
We’re not coming this year, so don’t sweat it. 😉 Also, the entire team hasn’t been play testing, so if some of them were to show up they would have no advantage.
You should have a little more confidence in your team’s ability, haha =P
I won’t be there this year either, but it was worth considering, yeah? Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see you there but it seemed a little unfair considering how tight the time frame is for the rest of us pleabs.
I’m really hoping 8th does not nerf chaos. Sorcerer cabal and the faction formations were the coolest and probably best thing chaos got last edition. (Please no nerf!). Emperors children and alpha legion two of my favorites
