We are so excited to bring you a new podcast on our channel. We hope you enjoy The Ninth Realm, an Age of Sigmar podcast!
Signals will still be going up on schedule but we will be adding The Ninth Realm on Thursdays. Because this podcast is so new we will be relying on our listeners to give us feedback, and what topics you want to hear about. Let us know in the comments section!
And as always, Frontline Gaming sells Games Workshop product at up to 25% off of retail, every day!
You can also pick up some cheap models in our Second Hand Shop. Some of these gems are quite rare, sometimes they’re fully painted!
You may want to fix the typo that calls this The 9th Age, as that’s an entirely different wargame.
Good catch, thanks, and done.
Definitely going to listen when I get home tonight – super stoked about the General’s Handbook release.
Me, too! Can’t wait to get my hands on it.
Great show looking forward to the next one. I am so jazzed to be going to an event that will be actually run by GW. When the rules for the event drop you know I’ll be buying what I need to field NIGHTHAUNTS. Keep up the great content. I also love seeing Tuesday night fight pop back up.
Glad you’re enjoying it and yeah, that was good fun!
We are super pumped to be working with GW, too. The LVO this year will be bad ass!
Great stuff! Good start, looking forward to you getting into the gaming and generals handbook discussions in future weeks.
As someone who’s really liked AoS from the start (in spite of itself to begin with admittedly) I’m loving the positivity and the excitement for it from all over.
I think the change we’ve seen in GW is also astounding, if you’d said even earlier this year that they’d be reaching out to the community directly, working with TOs on gaming systems and balance, and not only working on making AoS viable as a competitive game as well as a loose sand box system but seemingly succeeding at doing that you’d have been laughed out the room! Never been more happy about the hobby as I am now.
And I’m super excited to see what happens when GW turns this new way of thinking onto 40K!
Glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, we agree. GW is taking such a positive turn, it is awesome. We can’t wait to get our hands on the General;s handbook, it will be what takes this game from a dud to a stud for many gamers.
Great show guys, glad to have you back in my earbuds since I haven’t been into 40k lately. I reckon Mariana should be the third chair on this podcast, she could have a very interesting take as a new player.
Hope you do some youtube battle reports as well!
Yeah, she is really enjoying the game and getting all of her models painted up quite nicely, actually.
We will certainly have some bat reps once our armies get a bit bigger!
GREAT Podcast!
Today, I got a chance to thumb through a copy of the General’s Book… the editing and presentation of material is orderly, and there is some cool stuff packed into it – I can’t wait to get my own copy!
I can bring my army to a game store or friends, setup and start playing a game in 15 minutes even with no pre-plan for the size of the game. I can list-build easily and go at it. All the special rules for each unit/model are on 1 page for me to refer to. From the modeling standpoint I appreciate that most units have just a few build-outs possible โ this allows me to easily build them WYSIWYG. There are synergies that can be built within a faction, it is a tactical game, fun and the models rock.
My Rotbringers need to come down to San Diego for some sand kickin’ – ๐
Yeah, it is easy, fast and fun! And we’d love to have you some time if that is possible.
You know, I don’t mind being frustrated by an opponent during a game, but it’s another thing to be frustrated by the rule set of a game. Really excited about AoS and where GW is taking it!
Loved he first episode of the podcast. I’ve been playing Warhammer in some form, both fantasy and 40k, pretty much since its inception in the late 80’s. And I’m not sure there has been a more exciting time to play the game. AoS is kicking out stunning models, beautiful art, great tomes of fluff, and now with the general’s handbook, we’ll have a competitive scene. And yet it’s still an easy to learn game, with few barriers to entry, yet with depth and complexity that becomes apparent on the battlefield. So I agree completely with your statement in the podcast that AoS could be bigger than 40k, and that could be quicker than we would have believed a year ago.
Anyway, thanks for making the podcast, and I cannot wait for AoS and LVO this year.
Glad you liked it, buddy! And I agree on all counts, this game is going to be a hit if GW keeps doing what they’re doing with it.
As a longtime listener to Signals, I’m glad to see a new show with Reece, and loved the first episode.
Could I humbly make one request? Next time, could you get Mariana on a microphone?
I don’t want to single her out as being a female player, but her gender and her newness to the hobby makes her perspective fresh, so I’d like to be able to hear her better.
Otherwise, great recap of the both miserable and wonderful first year of this game, looking forward to the next episode!
Yeah, she needs a mic, we felt the same. And we all agree, it’s cool to have a new war gamer that is also female as her perspective is certainly unique.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the first podcast! Question about your guys’ thoughts on rotating turn order? Our group absolutely hates it and we have thrown them out, what do you guys think about it?
Thanks!
And yeah, that rule is not very popular here. Often the gang just doesn’t use it.
Even though I love 40k I have never checked out signals. I am definitely going to be tuning in to 9th realm. I am loving all things AoS right now and hearing how excited you guys are right now is making me very happy. Also helps to get my 40k group interested.
I hadn’t been able to get a game of fantasy in for years and suddenly I’m playing AoS weekly.
Yeah, it’s weird, the tide just shifted on AoS, it is really gaining steam.
Great podcast! Fine upstanding pillars of the community that you all are, it was interesting to hear your summary of how you’ve seen the game develop in its first year.
Already looking forward to next week’s!
Glad you liked it!
Needs better intro music
You need better intro music! =P
I’ll be picking some stuff up soon, as soon as I figure out what exactly I want to play. Order for sure, though, all the way!
Order is awesome! Mariana has been kicking everyone’s ass with Seraphon!
Great podcast, guys. I’m really Interested in starting an army now. Thanks.
You got it, buddy!
Do you guys have a podcast feed for only the Age of Sigmar related podcast?
Not at present, everything is on the same channel.
