Reece and Frankie spent a long hard weekend working on making the LVO amazing and are currently on a beach somewhere sipping margaritas made of Tau tears and dreaming of the good old days. Tune in tomorrow for Signals from the Frontline!

Slackers!
They probably earned that break though. Looking forward to the next Meta-busting Monday!
I would love to hear more about handling Daemon armies and specific tactics to use against some of the stronger lists. Or an episode on Reserves, how best to utilize your own, deep striking vs outflanking vs simply walking onto the board, and even ways to reserve manipulate your own reserves and your opponent’s.
Only found the podcast recently and while I’m not a competitive 40K player at all and don’t use ITC it’s great listening to a bunch of knowledgeable people chat about a game I love, so enjoy the break!
BTW For anyone who hasn’t seen +2 attacks to Space Wolf, Blood Angel and Grey Knight dreadnoughts of all types (clarified to work with special dreadnought characters too) has been changed and released as an official errata rather than house rule after people’s positive reactions to it 😀
Great change, fantastic step forward for GW and opens up so much potential.
Well it was technicaly in the Space Wolves FAQ and they don’t have them. Seeing how it went with the Dreads I’d expect Scouts to be updated in the Blood Anges FAQ.
And yet the giant, raging monstrosity known as a Maulerfiend still has half the attacks of a Dreadnaught. (Not to mention the Helbrute is in the same boat).
We shall see. If we do end up getting a new CSM Codex late this year or sometime next year, I’m ok with those two units having less attacks than they really should for the time being. It’s not like hotfixing Helbrutes to match SM dreadnaughts is all of a sudden going to make CSM great again.
Warhammer 40,000 Hey André,
We havn’t gotten to the Chaos Space Marine draft FAQ yet.
We don’t know yet what the rules guys will rule on those, but we’ll pass on your cute picture of a cat to them.
Love these guys pod cast, best for 40K. But as their egos grow it seems this “twice” a week pod cast is lucky if it gets done 3 times in 2 weeks. Love what they do for the community, but bath’n in all the “geek” $$$$ might just make the house of cards come crash’n down. I certainly hope not, but the cracks are starting to form. Hire some more help, competent help.
Have you seen how many episodes they have put out? They maybe have missed 1% of shows, I’m sure you’ve prepped a 100k square foot hall before and signed $50k contracts etc for the enjoyment of hundred of gamers, I havnt done those things, I prepped last years hall of 40k square feet and that was extremely hectic
Yeah… how dare they take a vacation once in a while! Between being one of the few 40k sites to post content multiple times per day, organizing big tournaments, and being a retail store on top of that they don’t deserve any breaks! Work harder for our entertainment!
Without vehicle damage table, there would be no immobilize results. Double immobilize under 7th edition is what causes grav to be so deadly. If you roll two sixes, that is 3 HP due to second immobilize on an immobilized target.
Under the new table, two sixes would be 2 HP and no immobilize. Any fives would have a 50% chance of turning into a Pen.
Your own quota turns every current hull point loss into 1.5 since the fives also do one half the time.
The difference is at best neglegible and in the case of superheavies makes grav way more efficient.
Except what you’re proposing for grav is not really that much of a nerf. It would make other guns much worse (melta would be pretty pointless) while not affecting grav that much.
Your proposal makes grav MUCH better against super heavies and it takes a decent amount of grav shots for the current setup (6+ gives HP and immobilized) to perform worse than what you’re proposing.
Didn’t bother to find the exact tipping point but – according to my math – the current system will still get less hullpoints on average than your proposed system even at 8 shots of grav per squad.
if the table is eliminated, whats the difference between a glance and a pen? they both simply take off 1 hullpoint, and no, im good with grav not getting better. taking off HP on a 5 with grav amp re-rolls is ridiculous. Its already the best gun in the game.

They should have more time off, GW have made it official that all BA, SW and GK dreads have +2 attacks.

Boo ya! My all-dreads list is happy about this.
Now if we could just get them to do the same for scouts.
Well it was technicaly in the Space Wolves FAQ and they don’t have them. Seeing how it went with the Dreads I’d expect Scouts to be updated in the Blood Anges FAQ.
Maybe it will even give them the missing L in their name but one can never know..

I would expect that to be addressed in the CSM FAQ, though technically the Hellbrute and the Maulerfiend are different units than SM Dreadnoughts.

“I would expect that to be addressed in the CSM FAQ”
Sweet child of summer, you have no idea, do you?
Saying “no” is still addressing it
We’ll be lucky to get the “no” xD.
That would mean they would have to acknowledge us in the first place.
Mmmm Tau tears. Specifically Storm Surge tears. Enjoy the beach guys!
Most likely means that the quarterly poll isn’t coming out today. *sad face*
We are all sad about that 🙁
Any ETA on the vote?
Sadly no, I would guess no later then Wednesday.,
I think it’s cool we’ll still get a signals.
Enjoy the break guys, Tau tears and crying chaosers in the side.
Heh, Long hard weekend.

Dream Errata:
Vehicle damage table eliminated
Glances turn into Pens on a 5+ (AP2/AP1 improves this roll, open topped hurts it)
Pens remove 1 Hull Point
Grav:
Glance on a 5
Pen on a 6
Haywire:
Glance 2-4
Pen on 5-6
Oh yeah, Grav taking hull points even quicker. That’s just what we needed.
If there were no vehicle damage table, and the Glace -> Pen roll I proposed, I think this is a grav nerf.
because grav needs so much help, right?

Will we ever get a relook at the ruling for the Tau Hunter Contingent?
Screw the Hunter Contingent, I just want my Piranhas to be able to do what the formation says. 😐
