Dropzone Commander Battle Report #22 – 1500 UCM vs. Scourge – Recon

scourge
Scott (LVO champion and NOVA Open Dropzone co-lead) was in town, so we made time for a Dropzone Battle Report. In light of the online debate over the fairness and randomness of the Recon mission, we tried tweaking the rules a bit so that a roll of 1 on the Intel chart still gives you a Victory Point. I thought this was an improvement to the mission, although it would impact the design of some units like Berserkers or Eviscerators (not taken in this game).

We also do some more testing on the Phoenix, and give the UCM Mortar Teams a first trial.
Let us know any comments! Sorry that some of the shots are really zoomed out, Scott was still learning how to use the camera. Be sure to check out the Tactics Corner for more great video bat reps!

    1. With that I meant thanks for the report and keep ’em coming 🙂 Thought to clarify that.

In the end it didn’t matter that you had the search rule roll of a 1= still a point, right?

      1. It would matter in a tournament for margin of victory. I lost the game, but I don’t think I lost it badly enough to justify a 14-6 result for the mission.
