Rumors: The Rumor Section is gathered from the web and is not in any way information we receive from any manufacturer nor is it necessarily accurate. This section of the podcast is intended for entertainment purposes only.
- Counter-rumors! Some folks are saying that there will in fact, not be any AdMech for 40k and will remain only in 30k.
- Fantasy to have combined factions, but the books will still be valid.
- Apparently you will be able to make Fantasy armies with either square or round bases.
- Fantasy should “open up,” as 40k did.
- Army books to be available in Soft Cover.
- Crazy rumor that the Skaven through a moon on the Lizardmen, who then rode a chunk of it away into space….
- Sisters of Battle are apparently in production, and will be a Q2 release. Rumor is that this is a total reboot, Dark Eldar style.
Rant Session
Tactics Corner
Rules Lawyer
- The Council voted on several issues. These should be the last updates before LVO unless something major comes up.
o Scatter Laster twin links other guns vs. what it shot at.
o Dreadnaught in a Lucius Pod gets hit in rear armor during No Escape! attacks.
o Chaos Lords cannot replace the bolters on their bike with Relics.
Completed Commissions
- Very cool Tau commission!
List Review
The Talon is 6 str7 rending shots
Thanks for the clarification.
The Hell Talon is the bomber, no one uses it. The hell blade comes with 8 str 7 ap 4 twin-linked shots. For 15 extra points you get x6 str7 ap 4 rending shots. You pay the extra 15 points and lose 2 shots for the rending ability.
Frontline really needs to allow chaos to use Renegades and Heretics army list. It really shores up chaos, essentially giving us cheaper IG allies.
Thank you for the clarification and we do allow Heretics and renegades! It’s awesome.
Sorry but you are wrong the standard guns on a Blade are 2 reaper auto cannons witch ends up being 4 str7 twin-linked shots. So you end up gaining an extra 2 shots and rending for the upgrade
Exactly, there is no downside to upgrading… 15 points for 50% more shots and rending.
Wow. That is a terrible hit to Dreadnoughts in Lucius pods.
Also is the Haywire hits to an embarked Dreadnought how it will be played? I remember that being a contentious issue as No Escape says you inflict D6 hits at the strength and AP of the weapon.
…Why can’t a Chaos Lord replace their bike’s weapon? It’s a weapon the model is equipped with, and it’s not like CSM were tearing up the tournament scene? C’mon, Reece, we seriously don’t need more “changing rules for the sake of change” nonsense.
Actually this one isn’t as cut and dry as you are claiming, You are making the assumption that you can pick the bike wargear before you buy the relic thus giving you the bikes twin-linked bolters to replace. It makes even less sense if you are choosing a melee relic like the black mace and try and replace the bolters on the bike with it
I could also make the argument the a lord with a bike doesn’t have the Twin-linked bolter but rather the bike does as the rules say “the bike is fitted with a twink-linked bolter” see what i mean not so clear cut
If the bike (not the model) has the weapon, the model can’t shoot with it. You can’t shoot a weapon you’re not equipped with.
And upgrades are sequential- you buy the bike, then you buy something else and exchange the weapon on the bike. If upgrades AREN’T sequential, it is impossible to ever take any of the Chaos Steeds, because you would never have the Mark of Chaos prerequisite to take them.
thunder fire cannon is a gun the model doesn’t have but can fire
Artillery has a special set of rules dictating how it is shot.
Yeah, that is the way we read it too, and if you open that door people could start arguing they could put a sword or something on the bike in place of the twin bolters. It gets silly, fast.
Again, what’s the harm in this? Who cares if someone wants to swap the Bolter for a sword or something? How does it in any way negatively impact the game?
I actually agree with Reece, and I’m a chaos player who fields bike HQs.
As much ad I love the idea of a burning brand and twin lightning claws on a bike, it’s better not to set a precedent.
That said, I don’t accept that it’s RAW contentious at all to replace the bolters.
The bike isn’t an entity, it’s a wargear package. The bike has no separate model, not separate profile, and is incapable of being a part of 40k in itself. It’s like saying that the perils of the war effects, happen to hiron’s hamadrya instead of him – it makes no sense, as the hamadrya is just a cute wrapping to justify some extra rules.
Further, if you read the fluff (lol fluffjustification) many chaos bike riders aren’t even separate from their bikes any longer 😛
> it’s better not to set a precedent.
Why? How is it in any way harmful to the game?
The Warhammer Playstation games are Dark Omen and Shadows of the horned rat
Ah yes, nice. Thanks!
@Rawdogger
Bitch moan complain on behalf of Lynx players everywhere. 😉
What bothers me most is not the change for the scatter laser on the ONE vehicle it affects, its the other rules not addressed that impact multiple armies, or rules in the FAQ that 100% contradict the rule books (not talking about things that were modified to make the game ‘funner’, like the 2++ saves or invisibility).
It is what it is, I don’t like the changes but at least it offers a consistent play format which to me is probably the most important aspect of playing games (common understanding of the rules amongst all players involved)
Also, the developer for that BFG game is Tindalos.
They’ve already developed a game, that was basically a battlefleet gothic “moba” with “allies” against “axis” space ships. They referenced BFG several times.
The game only suffered, because mobas in general require a big player pool of active players. The game itself (Stellar Impact) was pretty damn good, so I have high hopes for this!
great podcast as always! Thanks for doing em boys <3
