Vince busts out his Scions vs. Jeff’s Grey Knights in an 1850pt BAO format game. Please be aware that this was their first time filming a bat rep and it is a bit choppy. However, a lot of folks want to see a Scion force in action so we stuck with it! Check out the Tactics Corner for more great video bat reps!
Nice to see the Scions trotted out; I’d been wondering about it. Seems like they forgot to film on the bottom of the turns, and completely forgot turn 2, but good report.
Bummer to see the knights lose; my biggest complaint about 7th is how worthless elite, low-model-count armies have become. Getting a little tired of flooding the board with models.
don’t tell that to imperial knights;P
Really? When was the last time you saw an all-knight army win?
well, to be fair I didn’t say an all knight army, but three is pretty nasty and will for sure lower you’re overall numbers.
I have seen all knight armies win vs a bunch of different lists in different scenarios, they take a surprising amount of skill to work though, placement is so key it’s probably worth trying them out just to get your movement skills more refined.
Some lists they walk over and others[necron flyer spam in an altar of war mission] are super tough but amazing learning experiences.
elite armies might just not work well for you, they take an awfull amount of effort to make work usually[though 3 wraith knights and 4 wave serpents is really low model count and usually kicks ass:)] but it’s the same for most armies,
the best players usually take the best armies, even if the efficiency is only 3% better they’ll take it most likely, or they just get bored and try the newest thing.
that does mean that older dex’s don’t get played by the best people and it appears they become terrible.
I’ve played BA for ever and still do well with it, don’t give up hope:)
Frontline Gaming battle reports are typically some of the best on YouTube and I look forward to seeing them in my feed.
Other publishers put a lot more production value in than just stringing together clips, but their content is normally lacking or their decisions questionable, so despite the lack of “extra” effort that goes into the ones Frontline produces, I still prefer yours.
I’ve even gotten over the harsh-cut ad for your gaming mats stuffed into the middle, because I get that you guys want to advertise and see some money.
However, this was a really big disappointment. I recognize that you prefaced with this being their first time doing a battle report, but frankly it should not have been uploaded. It was a huge step backwards and not worth the time and feels like a view-grab.
I’m sure your devout followers will attack me for my sentiments, but it’s my opinion. Step up the game, guys. So much potential for great videos, that people would watch every day if you put them out. Get someone who knows even basic editing to improve them even slightly and you’d see a resounding response.
Don’t upload this kind of incoherent garbage again please. Thank you.
Well, thanks for sharing your honest opinion, can’t fault you for that. Normally this type of video wouldn’t make it through the edit process but as stated, a lot of folks would like to see the Scions in action so we put it up despite some of the technical issues.
Well a rather non competitiv GK list.
Deployment and starting moves from GK was also rather poor IMO. Scouting up in the open a single dreadknight is asking for it getting killed.
Been thinking about running a Scion list and was wondering whether Rocket Pods or Heavy Bolters would be better on the Valkyries? Would be nice to see the two lists posted here when you guys get them.
With respect, a quick question. Were the two players friends/acquainted in friendly way?
If yes, then no big deal, I guess. If not, then the Scions player needs to take a chill pill. No need to be so disparaging of your opponent while at the same time, repeatedly stroking your ego.
We already have a world greatest 40k player, thank you. Haha.
