Warhammer 40K Video Bat Rep #240 Plague Marines vs Flesh Tearers

frankie

Frankie busts out his Plague Marines against the Architect’s Flesh Tearers in this bat rep! The terrain they are playing on is a part of our new terrain service, we can make you a custom table! Check out the Tactics Corner for more great video bat reps!

Note: I said it was Typhus, but it is actually a Nurgle Lord with Power Fist, sorry for the confusion.

  1. Vehicle related question: Are wrecked vehicles Dangerous Terrain anymore? Do they give a 5+ to models ON the wreck? 5+ to models partially obscured by the wreck?

BAO5 question: Just finished a game with this scenario this evening–do destroyed Heavy Support units still give an extra VP? If so, does that get added toward the Primary or is it a ‘4th’ category?

‘Destroy a Unit’ question: So, if an IC joins another unit (say, a Drone Commander and a unit of Markerlight Drones), the BRB seems like that means the IC and the unit he joined become ONE unit until the IC leaves. Am I correct in this? If I am, it means that if I only manage to destroy the Markerlight Drones, I have not technically destroyed a unit, because the IC is part of it (he didn’t leave it, it was shot out from underneath him).

BAO5 feedback: The objective-related tacticals are either easy-mode (control your #1 or your opponent’s #2) or hard-mode (control your opponent’s #1 or your #2). Perhaps an adjustment (for the future) would be to have the #2 objectives placed 18″ or more from your table edge (or deployment zone /shrug). That would make them ‘medium-mode’, so there would be 1 hard, 2medium, and 1 easy tactical objective.

Enjoyed the batrep. Infiltration is definitely one of the strongest warlord traits. Question: If someone assigns infiltration to a unit that has a dedicated transport, does the unit confer infiltrate to the vehicle? I did this in a tournament a couple of weeks ago. The TD ruled that I could (the warlord was with the unit as well).

    1. 1.) No, they are only difficult terrain. The BRB uses the word behind, which is confusing, but I would say yes, treat it as we would treat area terrain last edition.
2.) As the guidelines say, the points go to the secondary.
3.) The unit and the IC each count as a unit for KP purposes. Destroy either and get a KP/FirstBlood/Warlord/etc.
4.) That is probably because of the armies you are playing. Try it with a really fast army or Drop Pods, etc. and your opinion on how easy some of the objectives are or are not will change quite a bit.

Yeah, the Strategic Traits are so good. 3 of them are amazing. Vehicles can infiltrate along with their unit, so yes.

  2. So friend of mine playes chaos too and has trouble winning sometimes. Would list like this work without nurgle troops? Or is that extra durability, more CC-punch and fearless just so worth it?
