Cameron B. brings us another Dropzone Commander video bat rep! Check out the Tactics Corner for more great videos.
A Dropzone Commander Battle Report at Giga-Bites Cafe. Testing out the new Orbital Defense Laser mission with a non-traditional PHR list.
I would be interested in some feedback.
Do people like the longer format that I used in this video? The video is roughly 30 minutes, and includes more description and analysis.
Or do they prefer the shorter, more condensed, 15-20 minute format that I have used in my previous videos?
Two things. First I very much prefer the longer videos. Now I actually feel like I know what’s going on. Second on turn four you fired the laser and said you did 30 damage points to the building so it had two left. Large buildings only have 30 damage points. If you did 30 the objective and those infantry should have died.
I just went through the Rulebook again and saw that I was wrong and Large buildings do have 40 Dp. Which is hilarious because the game I watched, that Dave from Hawk Wargames was there for, they played it as Large buildings have 30 Dp which is how I have played it since.
30 and 40 are both correct. The rulebook says 40, but the new tournament packet that was released last week says 30. In clarifying the discrepancy, Hawk Simon on the forums mentioned that Hawk’s official tournaments are now using 30 DP, but that the tournament packet doesn’t have to be followed rigorously if you want to keep using 40.
I’ll have to talk to the local players to see how we want to play it going forward. My vote will be for 30, just to stay consistent with the Hawk tournaments.
Having 30 DP buildings makes a big difference in this mission! I would have won if that building only had 30 DP.
I liked this longer format, thanks for posting!
Yea, much bigger fan of longer format.
What are you using for your destroyed buildings?
They’re Brian’s (Blipvert). I believe he used the downloadable building designs that you can get from the hawk website, then just made jagged cuts with scissors and added some sort of base.

I’ll ask him next time I see him, since you’re the second person to ask about it.
