    1. So many good choices! Orders are amazing, their Psykers and Priests are awesome, cheap Leman Russes, Yarrick is a total stud, the Wyvern is boss mode. They have a lot to be happy about, honestly.

      1. For the cost of an aegis line (no gun) you get 1ML with divination.
For half that you get fearless/hatred.

        Wyvern is nasty.
AA got nerfed, but might be okay if you use divination to help it get through jink.

      2. There are so much possibilities in that Codex to get rerolls to hit and to ignore cover – that makes the new IG really powerful.
I especially like the new Pask, getting “rending” for a Leman Russ Punisher.

          1. Well, I just consider those additional tanks as additional hull points for Pask. And Eradicators and Vanquishers have become soooo cheap in the new Codex. You won’t do anything wrong buying an Eradicator for the same points than a Vindicator.

            1. Expensive Hull Points =)

I am not saying it is bad at all, but that I would rather spend points in other areas for a lean, mean list. One attack can kill both tanks too, which is a problem.

          2. Yep, that’s right. But I love the sound of Punisher Gatlings in the morning. Sounds like – dead Xenos. 😉

  1. How does Re-rolls to hit affect the Executioner? Do you get to re-roll the gets hot?
Also, Im so tempted to start IG now.

  2. Now I am glad that nobody bought my Catachans, lol. IG allies incoming! (IG for life, I am never going to remember to call them AM)

  3. Cool to see the IG. Still think people need to hold back on dive bombing belakor down the field by himself. Force multiply and then go forward with heldrakes or something for
    Multiple threats.

    1. I agree, I usually run Belakor and have him hide and use his powers to be a sneaky bastard and then go roshambo people in the nuts

    2. I played Belakor for a few weeks, then decided that 350 points worth of chaos was a better buy. An unmarked sorcerer rolling exclusively on Telepathy will get enough powers to replicate some of Belakor’s abilities and for about half the price. The rest of the points buy more bodies.

If Belakor is held back, just casting invisibility, etc., then what’s the point of having a CC badass?

  4. Im not convinced on the wyvern to be fair.

In this day of death stars and knights and other knights and serpents and 2 riptides (need i go on) they they wont do jack.

They WILL kill crappy little cultist squads etc etc…but was your really going to have trouble with that anyway?

Its a “win more” vehcile. it will crush opponents that its good against that would wouldn’t of had any trouble with in the first place and at other times do jack sh!t. And it will take up a heavy slot to boot.

Much rather be getting more russes personally

    1. Firstly: Models are removed from the centre of the blast. Which means if you hit the warlocks, they can’t LOS onto someone with a 2+/2+. It ignores cover, and it can rend though the 2+/2+ armour.

So, you can potentially snipe out some warlocks, with “only” a 4++/4++. It’s better odds than most, and if you can take out the armour boosting warlocks, healing warlocks, cover enhancing warlocks, etc, then the entire unit becomes a LOT less scary. Suddenly baledrakes can cause them to take mass wounds from inconventient angles, and they are down to 4++/4++.

  5. jees, can i edit my post, its way too early here and spelling mistakes galore…..hope you got the point though :/

I saw your poo pooing of pask, i tried him and reeeeealy liked him. Basically a 4 heavy slot! i think you really have to build the list with it in mind though, as its super suseptable to assaults ( in 6th ed!! my word, who’d have thought)

  6. I don’t know why you guys seem to love Hammer & Anvil. Imo it’s the death of 40K, along with gunlines behind Aegis Defense Lines. Can anything be more boring? Shooting doesn’t need more help. Tournaments in my area don’t even use Hammer&Anvil deployment, and fortifications are banned (and Battlebrothers downgraded to Allies of Convenience). Leads to way more open games.

    1. Hammer and anvil is a fun deployment, it really mixes things up. We roll the deployment randomly, using all of the book deployments. Also, it makes using flyers a lot more interesting as you can’t plan on always having optimal set up. I think all three book deployments currently are good and serve a purpose.

      1. Thanx for the batrep.

Wow… Chaos never had a chance, hammer and anvil and the empty midfield except for one LOS blocker in the centre totally screwed them!

I don’t like H&A, it just gives another big advantage to shooty lists in a shooty edition.

I hope 7th gives melee a big buff.

  7. Bring more batreps from the new IG….Can’t wait to see some of the new units in action…Would also like to see them fight against stronger armies…

    Cool Batrep as always 🙂

  8. Great report as always.

The terrain piece that looks like an electrical substation is quite possibly the best looking piece of terrain I’ve seen in your battle reports.

Is it a kit or is it scratch built? If it is a kit, is it available thru FG?

Thanks and keep up the great work!!!!!!

    Tom

  9. Awesome battle report. Good to see others confirming my thinking that the AM is going to be a really strong codex!

  10. If I was Raw Dogger, I would have put Be’Lakor in that middle building (within LOS) so he could maybe get the 2+ Cover from most of the shots (sans the Vet squad with the PS). Then, I would have tried to Puppet Master the Punisher or Plas-exterminator and get rid of that Vet Squad asap. I just think RD went up the wrong flank with ol’Belly that’s all.
