Great show guys. And @ Raw Dogger you’ve got at least one fan. This guy! lets go LARP in czech republic!
Thanks for taking the time to review my list! Haha, I know it’s not a typical 6th ed list, but that’s part of what makes it fun. Sorry if the format was difficult to read. There are actually no 4 man units, the smallest unit is the 5man GK bolter acolyte unit. The others are either 7man (melta/plasma) or 6man (flamers). I probably should have included some of my tactics with the list to give you a better idea on how I run it.
The inquisitor usually hangs out with the plasma unit, making it a fairly good shooting unit and much less likely to blow itself up. The 5man acolytes usally hangout inside the stormraven, and are used for late game objective grabbing/linebreaker. The purifiers are my counter-assault unit, able to beat most things with 3+ or worse saves, and doing so before they get to hit. Coteaz either hangs out with the purifiers or the strikes, and usually takes a central position to allow the most flexibility with his buffs.
One of my favorite things to do is to tank shock units and either hit them with either the valk or the flamer unit. I can’t believe Raw Dogger dissed the valk. I’ve found it to be a solid performer, and servo-skulls make it’s blasts pretty reliable.
I play the 1500pt version of this list (no knight, but the strikes have psybolt ammo) a lot at my FLGS, and it performs pretty well. I’ve never really had a problem with firepower, and the only missions I consistently lose are KPs.Obviously, a GT is a different beast than the FLGS tournaments, so I really do appreciate the feedback. If I was to say there was a weak performer, it would have to be the melta acolytes. I’ve just never been up enough armor to see how they perform. With the new IG codex and LRBTs coming back in style, I’ll have to see what they do.
I guess my favorite part of this list is that it’s not particularly spammy while maintaining some redundancy. There are only two transports I have two of, and every unit is kitted out differently. The list plays kinda like a machine, with each part supporting others and working toward accomplishing the mission.
Haha, sorry if this turned into a rant, thanks again!
Haha sorry, just a couple more things I forgot to mention. While the acolytes aren’t as capable as vets, they die to exploding chimeras just as well. Another advantage they have is that they’re all ld8, so there’s no chance of having a sarge sniped out and lowering their leadership.
Also, the reason I took purifiers over strikes is that I can pack more psycannons into the list. The purifiers clock in at just under 200, so there isn’t an easy way of getting two more psycannons into the list without dropping somethings a probably losing some armor saturation.
OH HEY WE GOT PIZZA HERE…
