List Review
Please evaluate my list:
Imperial Knights primary:
Paladin is warlord
2x Errants
Coteaz
5x Strike squad with psycannon and psybolt ammo
5x interceptor squad as above
Dread knight with heavy psycannon and heavy incinerator and personal teleporter
The idea is that depending on the mission I have lots of scoring units plus one fast attack and one heavy unit to score as well. Plus Coteaz to buff knights out.
Also, I am tired of seeing so many unpainted knights out there!
I don’t think in this case Coteaz can buff the knights since imperial knights and grey knights are not battle brothers but allies of convenience, you would have to take coteaz from the INQ codex to buff knights
Correct! The list does also basically nothing to assist in what knights need the most either, AA and boots on the ground. Right now it seems marines, and probably the new IG will compliment knights best.
Ah, good catch. we assumed BB’s thinking a inquisition, but byeah, GK have no BBs.
I thought Inquisition BB to Grey Knights
Yes, and Red Hunters, too! Doh, double corrected in the same thread, haha!
CARLOS DANGER!!
Wasn’t that the baby from Hang Over?
His name is Carlos, not sure if it was Carlos Danger.
Carlos Danger was Anthony Wiener’s alias during his Twitter Scandal
So awesome, lol!
So, about the unrestricted 40k, the winner was a FMC spam Daemon list, right? Do you think that people would bring the same lists the next time they play? It seems that if you take an army with all your eggs in one basket, it’s not a reliable way to win in an event with everything.
I still think the solution to death stars you’re looking for are super heavies. If you say that you can’t take a Warhound with turbos, Revenant with pulsars or C’tan with Wave of Withering, it drastically reduces the amount of destroyer weapons that can be brought to the table. The “Age of Strife” destroyer rules are alright, but re-rolling invulnerable saves doesn’t really do a ton to stop the 2++ stars, maybe if you ran those rules, remove ID and add ignore invuls, it would function how you want it, without inadvertently making them better against MC’s.
Do you think that when the 16 top players show up and basically all of them have deathstars, that the fact that the one who already had one previous best overall under his belt and showed up with a still very nasty list* and played to the missions well, that there still isn’t a problem? Or did you just not listen to anything that the guys were talking about. Reece even specifically mentions “people will say ‘see, they’re not that bad'”, and explains why that’s not relevant and not even directly related to their complaints with the state of the game in the first place.
*Flying Circus is still very good, it’s just more dependent on lucky dice rolls for things like grounding checks. If there’s an army that’s relying on good luck out of the top lists, it’s that one. So, not really sure where you’re going with that. Doubly so since the eggs-in-one-basket thing was exactly what made the deathstars so nasty thanks to the abundance of killpoint missions. Anything that didn’t go that route basically auto-lost because the deathstars simply had to not die to win. Which is exactly what happened. But since the Flying Circus is also very good at denying kill points, it was an even match.
And are you still on about that crap about how Str D will magically fix everything?
Wow, little touchy today? Do my opinions about space dolls make you upset?
My point about the bring everything tournament was that people brought everything, and those “auto-win” Revenants and Warhounds didn’t win… But clearly they’re so OP they win everything and have no counters present in the game, amirite? Why would you bring a Revenant to a game when you know that if you play another revenant you’re just relying on first turn to win? It actually promotes diversity, right now there is literally no reason to not take a 2++ list. I’m glad someone won with a FMC spam army, but that doesn’t change the fact that most of the players who were in the top 16 were death stars.
Man Gordon is always a flappy V, I think he needs to get laid
Dude, doomrider is way more metal than kharn
Lol, haha, so true! But, Doomrider is more Poison, 80’s metal, Kharn is more 90’s Pantera metal!
I’m pretty sure Pantera’s cover to Vulgar Display of Power is just an artist rendition of Kharne rolling a one to hit in close combat when he has buddies around.
Just spit balling here:
Maybe the answer to all of the deathstars and other nonsense is to develop a handicap system based on lists. Not a comp system, but structure the VPs such that a deathstar army earns less points a win than a TAC list would. It wouldn’t be easy to do.
Yeah, Alan and the Chicago Comikazes came up with a system where a unit can only ever get 1 KP, so that a Deathstar can’t just run around doing all the damage.
I could listen to steve for hours.. that is one fucking funny dude.
He is funny as hell, no denying that! lol
i do not get way u guys in america play with this stupid new rules from gw !
