  1. I would pay big, big money to watch a 2hr 40k film by the people that made that DoW2 opening cinematic of that opening cinematic. That Ultramarines film was just soooo tame and unambitious.

A 40k film doesn’t need to have the greatest graphics and animation, it just needs to capture the feel of 40k which the DoW cinematic comprehensively nailed.

    1. I agree 1,000%

I think it would draw so many people in, it would be a big money earner (IMO) but perhaps GW has done a study on it and determined it wouldn’t? I don’t know, it just seems like a big missed opportunity.

They don’t have the license quite yet, but since Sega already got the Warhammer Fantasy license it seems inevitable they will get 40k as well (and let Relic do their thing). Also Sega are the publisher of the Total War series so they are definitely a solid RTS publisher.

Also the 9ed WHFB rumor on Faeit said next year, so 2014, so 4 years after 8ed was released. So it seems pretty plausible based on the last 8 years or so.

    1. Thanks for the clarification, I must have misread that. And yeah, 4-5 years per edition is normal, plus 8th ed didn’t seem to be as popular with a lot of folks I have spoken too.
