  1. Hey Reece,

Since the whole god damn book had been leaked online, there’s still quite a conundrum about Blast Weapons and number of shots.

The rule is all singular. But how does it apply to attacks that use multiple dice ? Like the Wyvern for exemple which is 4d6 ?

    Against a unit of 6+ models :
    – Do I roll the dice and count every individual dice that is less than 3 as 3 ?
    Or :
    – Do I roll the dice, and, if the combined result is more than 3, keep it as it is ?

Since there’s been an increase in point for Blast Weapon across the board, I would tend to the former, as the latter means that it is of no use to weapons that are 3d3/4d3/etc.

    Thanks !

        1. No. It just does a minimum of 3 attacks. End of text.

If your 4D6 Wyvern shoots at a unit of 6 or more models, it makes a minimum of 3 attacks per the blast rules (though it couldn’t actually roll below 4 with 4D6, obviously).

It just says if the dice rolled result in less than 3, make it 3. It doesn’t say individual dice as part of the roll that roll less than 3, make it 3 for each die.

          1. We’ve read it as each individual die is modified, FWIW. So if you fire 4d6 the lowest result is 12 vs. a unit of 6-10 and 24 for a unit of 11+, so unless GW contradicts that, that is how I would suggest playing it.

          2. Fair enough.

I’ve just read “number of attacks”.

But I know there’ve been different interpretations on this before between ETC/ITC (e.g. during the “Castellan-Age”, whether it is possible to roll a “one” with 2D3 Weapons on the Castellan for “Order of the Companion”, which re-rolls “ones”, or is 2 the minimum-roll (and thus in-eligible for Order of the Companions”).

          3. That’s how I’ve read it too, but it differs people to people.

We’ll play it like this, and when the FAQ hits, we’ll roll with whatever is the final word on it, if there’s any.
Thanks to everyone who chimed in on this, appreciate it.

  2. Just listened to this episode and lol’d at the mental picture of current warlord mechanics the show gave me:

Smash Captain: *drops in on turn 2* Look at me Roboute, I’m the Warlord Now! *charges enemy*

Guilliman – Author of the Codex Astartes, Master of Ultramar, Avenging Son of the Imperium: *sheathes the Emperor’s sword, nods, ducks behind a wall and starts telling some devastators how awesome they are*
