Completed Commissions
- All of these lovely models were painted by the FLG Paint Studio! We got this great letter from a customer about a Tournament Standard commission they recently got done with us!
I wanted to let you know that I got the cultists last week and I’m really happy with them. They look great. Since it was your bottom tier painting level I thought I might need to do some additional work on them, but they already look better than what I can do on my own. So I just need to do the bases, thanks again!
And remember, Frontline Gaming sells gaming products at a discount, every day in their webcart!
Fistellans are actually pretty good now. Not a lot of people can dislodge 4-6 T7 6W 1+ in combat. Are they worth all that CP, pts and Lucius – questionable, but that’s acceptable to me.
Now fix ruststalkers :p
They’re probably the only unaccceptable unit in the book now,
Hahaha, never thought I’d live to see the day….
Man, just listened – the insanity of people’s negative reactions to CA is laughable. For real. While I get people being disappointed that their favorite unit wasn’t touched, the amount of stuff that dropped/changed across the board…why wouldn’t people want more options or even to play against different stuff? I don’t get it.
Yeah, it is a bit silly. This book is almost entirely positive for everyone. You can find things to not like if you’re trying to but that’s about it.
My biggest issue with chapter aprroved is that I never wrote down all my meta busting tournament winning list ideas that were 150 pts over with the old numbers and now when I try to make new meta busting tournament lists with the new numbers from 2018 CA, my lists are all 150 points over.
Can’t GW fix their damn game?
Mine is the face of true suffering. Pity me for I was once like all of you.
lolol, well played, sir!
I thought overall CA was a big success and appreciated GW and the playtesters putting all the work into making the game better. That said, there were a couple of really ugly marks on this CA that stood out to me as big misses:
– Plague Drone increase by 6 points is way too much and totally removes any desire for me to put my 9 beautifully painted models on the table. Especially combined with a big 20-point jump on Scrivener. I could’ve understood 1-3 points but this was too much. It’s almost like they are trying to make Plague Drones worse to make Fiends and Bloodcrushers seem better instead of just lowering the points on those models even more.
– Cultist jump to 5 points wasn’t the right solution, as mentioned by the playtesters on Chapter Tactics. Limiting unit size to 30 would have been great.
– Astra Militarum infantry remaining at 4 points despite their popularity for CPs and screens is frustrating…they can get orders and have a 5+ save instead of a 6+ save, but now they are cheaper than Cultists. Sigh.
– Castellans are still rough but I’m reserving judgment for now to see how CA lands.
– Tzeentch Daemon points drops were helpful but should have been sightly more aggressive.
– I still hate Dark Reapers but I admit I am not sure how to fix Ynarri Dark Reapers who by themselves make a lot of other big models in other armies almost irrelevant.
– I am extremely frustrated at the lack of realistic points costs for Forge World Daemon units, especially the Daemon Lords. In an era where a lot of factions have super heavies that will see play, it’s frustrating that a year ago FW went back to their incredibly doofy “Chaos fluffy numbers” made-up points for 3 of the Daemon Lords and made Aetos unplayable at 1500 points (even though Taunar just dropped a ton?). The Daemon Lords are even worse now that 1) you can’t Warp Surge them anymore and 2) you can’t deep strike them turn 1 anymore.
– The “no more wobbly model when assaulting melee into upper floors” rule is still idiotic. Hooray wide stance immunity to assault 🙁
