BAO Tickets Now Up For Sale!

BAO 2018 is done and dusted!

Event Recap, here.

This will be an ITC formatted event, using the ITC Champion’s Missions. The tournament will be played over 6 rounds, Saturday and Sunday, July 28th and 29th at the Game Kastle store in  Mountain View, CA. 550 Showers Dr Suite 1, Mountain View, CA 94040.

The 3 colors and based modeling policy will be strictly enforced. Models that do not meet this requirement will be removed from the tables by a judge. If you plan on using a substitution model or a proxy that is not very close in size and shape to the model it is meant to represent, email the TOs at Contact@FrontlineGaming.org with a picture of the model in question and an explanation of which model it is supposed to represent for TO approval. If you do not do so, the model may be pulled from the table during the event by a judge if they feel it is not an appropriate substitution.

Chess clocks will be used for those players with a winning record starting day 2 of the event and made available at tables for those players who wish to use them so long as supplies last. Rules for their use can be found in the above ITC Format link.

All current Games Workshop 40k source materials will be allowed so long as it is published on or before July 22nd.

  1. Hi, thanks for the update. I have a question:

Will there be any limits on PL for models? For example, some tournaments have a rule like “no single model with a PL greater than 30” to exclude certain very expensive models like the Eldar Scorpion Tank (32 PL). Will BAO have a limit like this?

    Thanks!

  2. Are you guys going to make the belt trophy safer this year? Last year Brandon got pricked by something sharp in it and it drew blood… Hate to have that happen to him again this year ;).

  3. Is the facebook event page a closed group? When I click the link I get:

“The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you’re not in.”

    1. I guarantee you that before BAO rolls around, many people will drop (prompting FLG to open up those spots to others) and lots of folks will post to Facebook and other sites trying to sell off their tickets for one reason or another. Have a little patience.

Also, the reason they limit size is typically because the venue only has so much room in it and they only have so much terrain. Scaling upwards further requires a lot of work on their part.

      1. I completely understand, and I was one who sold mine last year, hoping someone is selling this year so I can go, no issues should stop me this time.
