News
- The LVO 2018 is approaching! We’re breaking all attendance records as we’ve discussed, and if you missed out on some of the big ones like the 40k Champs, make sure to get on the wait list as we have had a few drops and will be pinging the list when we process refunds and get the new tickets available for you. And, if you don’t want to monkey around with the wait list, we still have room in the 40k Gladiator, 30k Champs and 30k Narrative, Shadespire, AoS Champs events and more! We also have some awesome seminars lined up, too and will be releasing more information on that, soon.
- If you are playing in the 40k champs, towards the end of the month we will begin getting everyone uploaded into Best Coast Pairings and requiring you to upload your lists prior to the event. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the app and consider subscribing to help support the BCP team and get access to all kind of goodies including great deals at Gaming Stroes like Frontline Gaming.
- Also, please make sure you fully read the player pack, especially the parts pertaining to getting tabled and conceding. We’ve had folks not fully read those parts and score themselves incorrectly as a result.
- We will be having terrain build days at FLG again, soon. For those of you able to come, please do! It’s a fun way to spend the day and the help is greatly appreciated.

- The brand new Frontline Gaming Australia site will be opening for business very soon! They will be stocked with FLG mats, ITC Terrain and accessories so stay tuned for more information. This will give Australian customers a way to get FLG products at much better prices than having them shipped.

Tactics Corner
- If you wanted to see the new Blood Angels in action, watch our latest video bat rep. And for those jumping to conclusions about Blood Angels, give them a little time, first. People were saying the same thing about Eldar and now they’re considered to be one of the most competitive armies in the game.

Completed Commissions
- A beautiful Ultramarines commission recently completed by the FLG Paint Studio. Click here for more pictures.
Hi folks now’s there’s pretty much 3 Marine books out, if you were too run a pure Primaris force (I know it’s a handicap but who cares) which Chapter do you think would be best to use?
Hmm, for a shooty Priamris army Ultramarines with Guiliman or Dark Angels with Azrael. For melee: Blood Angels. For all around/TAC: Ravenguard.
I agree with the twitcher who called out people stuck on Deathwing armies. It’s not fluffy; there is no reason for 2000 pts of Deathwing to be in one place unless your opponent is playing Cypher and 1890 points of Fallen, And it’s not crunchy, no faction can build a good army out of Terminators, or even exclusively one type of Elite.
I do love Terminators though and they need something.I think T5 might help Termies, having played against the DG ones, it’s helped them stick around a lot better and I don’t think it’s that radical of a change. 3 Wounds would be amazing if mortal wounds were harder to come by. A 6+ FNP would be nice, but even just not making every modern imperial termie take storm bolters and power fists would go a long way to improving their cost and purpose. They’re shoehorned into taking an anti horde gun and anti vehicle melee weapon. Looking forward to those cataphractii and their SB/Light Claw setup, I think they’ll be decent at clearing up an objective of obsec.
Re. making termies great again. I miss the old 2nd ed 2+ on 2D6…It’d take forever to roll them out these days with the massive volume of fire out there (it took forever then too). But would introducing a D12 just for termies fix their durability?
Give them a 2+ on a D12 and GW could sell outrageously priced “terminator dice” to the hordes of people who would suddenly want to field them.
I’m pretty sure that a D12 would never make it into 40K tho, but I reckon that’d sort the problem out.
They were a 3+ on 2D6.
Personally, I’m happy they did away with all the extra types of dice from 2nd edition back when they still had D20’s, 12’s, 10’s etc all being used for various weapons armor penetration rolls against vehicles.
I think that like most things in the game, it is the units point cost that is more prohibitive and not its gear.
Ah yeah, 3+ on 2D6…It’s been a while 😀
I agree that reducing points would go some way to fix the terminators, but they should be more durable, not fielded in hoards (which points drop would facilitate). I’m just saying that when they were first imagined/designed their amazing save is what made them great and fit the fluff. Valiant, ancient termies getting punked by mass lasgun fire is quite disheartening. That said, there was a particular bloodclaw armed with a knife/bolt pistol back in 2nd that never failed to take out 1 or 2 of my deathwing back in ’95, the little bugger must have been going for the eyes.
Really looking forward to getting my Dark Angels on the table this week. Might have to paint up my Primaris Marines to go with my Dark Angels army.
The disappointing origin of drop bears.
