  1. If you are ever worried about losing the Initiative try deploying your units in a Wedge, then your enemy will have to move up more aggressively before declaring a charge, they may even opt out of making one, it will minimize contact with your unit therefore mitigating the damage they can do, then counter charge in your phase.

Remember piling in isn’t mandatory, if you think you are going to get molested in a combat then get ready to pull out and try again when you have another unit to support you.

Also, while the Initiative is random, you don’t have to go first if you win the roll, you can give it to your opponent, this can force your opponents hand into coming into your charge range.

Try making your boards with some bottle necks and impassable terrain pieces, with the freeform of movement you can now make boards that are more clustered.

    Also, try Scrollbuilder!

      1. You guys have it all wrong. You need to enjoy a strong whiskey based drink each time Reece complains about the initiative thing. This would make the game a lot more enjoyable to watch, and probably to play. The drinking rule applies at the start of army creation so you should have 4 or 5 drinks in you by the time the game starts.
