The following rumors comes from BoLS.
75hastings69 has been one of the longest steady reliable rumormongers in the community. Here is what he has to say about the Warhammer 40,000 6th boxed set…

…which will give some credibility to the rumor of the 6th ED starter being DA vs Chaos
Interesting π
Fingers crossed… DA’s and CSM.
Not “just” CSM π
Demons too?
No π
Cultists / Traitor Guardsmen perhaps?
π
Glad to see you back in rumor-mongery, Hastings.
Not back in, just lending credence to this as I know it’s correct.
No, there are rumors that may be complete fabrications about BT, Tau, Eldar, and Chaos. Strangers on the net don’t trump White Dwarf.
Agreed (etc. etc.)
I wouldn’t think that these are the entirety of this year’s possible releases – books perhaps, but I’d be surprised if there weren’t one or two waves.
Correct (ish) π
(…)
I don’t know if the spine images are anything to do with DA, 6th starter or the 25th year of 40k but I do know that most of the stuff posted is correct. 6th starter does indeed feature DA and the forces of chaos, including a nice plastic chaos dread π
I’m also willing to add (and you’ll need to forgive my weak 40k fu here) that the CSM in the starter are Chosen? (hope that’s the right name – 40k really isn’t my thing!!)

So, this is interesting! Traitor Guard and Chaos in a box with Dark Angels? Possibly including Fallen Angels? Plastic Chaos Dread? I am juiced!
WhatΒ do you guys think?
I’m happy to see anything new come out for Chaos… aside from that dumb-ass FAQ that nerf’ed Wartime.
Yeah, no kidding. That was brutal. It nerfed 1K Sons and Lash, too! Haha, poor chaos.
But how did it nerf warptime? The rules for it says to re-roll all the dice. It never meant anything else other than what people wanted it to say.
Fair enough, but as you said, most people didn’t play it that way. Often it isn’t the way a rule actually is, but how it is interpreted.
That is a very true, but it is very frustrating that people are yelling at GW about this ‘nerf’ when the codex clearly say re-roll all dice. GW even let them, for a time, have how they wanted it to be but then changes it back to how it was actually written and now call Chaos horrid and bad because they had to use the rule as they actually were.
Very frustrating.
And either way the ability to re-roll dice if something is going wrong for a second chance is still a powerful ability, even if you don’t get to re-roll on failed dice.
I understand where you’re coming from. It’s just that when people are used to playing a rule one way, and the rug gets pulled out form under them (even if it is justified) they tend to get upset. And, CHaos needs all the help they can get these days. I don’t think it was a change that needed to be made, honestly.
