World War 3 Quick Game Missions Bring Team Yankee Down to a Fast Fight

A World War 3 quick game does not need to feel like a slog.

Battlefront’s mission pack keeps the core movement, shooting, assaults, objectives, and combined-arms play intact. However, smaller forces and tighter tables make every unit matter more. Better still, most games should finish within 30 to 60 minutes. This is a summary of a community post found here.

Six Quick Missions Give Smaller Forces Real Variety

The pack is built for forces between 30 and 60 points on a 4-by-4-foot table. Players can choose a mission together or roll a D6, which keeps setup fast. Each scenario also fits onto a double-sided sheet with its special rules on the reverse.

Annihilation is the simplest fight, asking players to destroy every opposing Formation. Meanwhile, Bypass challenges the attacker to escape units through objectives in the defender’s rear. Free For All returns to a familiar objective battle, with each side trying to hold ground across the table. Gauntlet instead creates a flank attack, forcing the attacker toward one key objective while the defender reacts. Recon in Force uses five objectives, so even small forces must make difficult choices about where to commit.

Players win by controlling the centre with another objective, or by controlling any three. Finally, Seize the Bridge adds an impassable river, one bridge, and reserves arriving from unusual directions. Amphibious vehicles can shine. Several missions use Meeting Engagement restrictions, limiting first-turn aircraft, bombardments, and stationary shooting advantages. Consequently, the opening turn should be less likely to decide everything immediately. Objective rules are streamlined, while games that expire produce losses rather than draws. Overall, the format looks ideal for teaching newcomers or fitting several battles into one evening.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this World War 3 quick game pack solves a familiar problem without changing Team Yankee’s basic appeal. Smaller forces mean faster turns, while six missions still create different tactical puzzles. More importantly, shorter games make campaign nights and casual club sessions much easier to schedule.
