Team Yankee Argentine forces are finally bringing the 1982 Falklands conflict directly onto the tabletop.
The new booklet covers infantry, Marines, armour, artillery, air defence, and aircraft. However, Battlefront also expands Argentina into the wider World War III setting. That creates some fascinating historical and alternate-history army combinations for players. This is a summary of a community post found here.
Argentina Gets Infantry, Marines, Armour, and Serious Air Support

The Argentine Army Rifle Company represents troops fighting around locations such as Goose Green and Darwin Ridge. Infantry carries FN FAL rifles, MAG machine-guns, LAW rockets, and Super Bazookas. Additionally, companies can add mortars, recoilless rifles, and heavy machine-guns for flexible defensive firepower.

Argentine Marines offer better Skill and Motivation, reflecting the professional troops involved at Stanley and Mount Tumbledown. They can also ride LVTP-7 amphibious transports, giving players a very distinctive mechanized option. Meanwhile, AML-90 armoured cars bring mobility and Spearhead deployment to Falklands terrain.

Their 90mm HEAT guns make these lightweight vehicles surprisingly dangerous against armour. Supporting batteries include FM-120 mortars and Mod. 56 pack howitzers with Observation Posts for bombardments and smoke. Air defence is equally interesting, with radar-guided 30mm HS-661 and 35mm Oerlikon batteries ignoring normal aircraft range penalties. Above the battlefield, IA 58 Pucarás carry cannons, rockets, bombs, and optional napalm. That napalm forces infantry, gun, and unarmoured teams to reroll successful saves, which could become extremely nasty around dug-in positions.

Alternatively, supersonic Dagger strike aircraft bring heavier bombs and 30mm cannons. Perhaps the biggest wildcard is Argentina’s alliance rule. Players may take one Allied Formation from NATO, except Britain, or from the Warsaw Pact. Consequently, Argentine troops can fight beside American, West German, or Soviet formations in broader Cold War scenarios.

A limited Marine Rifle Company starter combines infantry, mortars, anti-tank weapons, artillery, air defence, AML-90s, and exclusive objective markers.

Battlefront is also preparing a free Firestorm Falklands campaign covering Operation Sutton, Goose Green, and the battles around Port Stanley. Additionally, a linked two-player Axis of Attack campaign arrives later this month.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Team Yankee Argentine forces look much deeper than a one-off historical novelty. The army mixes stubborn infantry, elite Marines, nimble armour, and unusually colorful air support. More importantly, the alliance system lets players push beyond 1982 without losing the force’s Falklands identity.
